Telkom Speed upgrades

Are the one meg lines going to start being upgraded from next Monday or only next year? Earlier in this thread the former was alluded to.

Sorry to say but that is hogwash...If I go to the checkadsl page for my line it says the maximum speed for my area is 2Mbps but I am currently syncing on 4Mbps and speedtest gives me 2.95Mbps.

Nope, me too. Apparently there's some "maintenance" scheduled for my exchange, after which I should be on 4Mbps. Obviously Telkom can't give me an ETA for said "maintenance".

Current line speed: 2

I don't think my line will ever be upped to 4mb.
 
Telkom seems to be taking their time with this.They probably came across a few obstacles.
 
Montana park pretoria also 4mb in my area, 2mb on my connection, come on telkom, I have a need for speed:D

I got excited last night as internet was down for a few minutes and thought they must have been upgrading. No such luck :/ Should I call in?
 
In Montagu, the Montagu Vleishuis in Mark Street was still running at 384k on his router. He had no idea anything faster was possible
 
Anyone knows what this is? It's around a 100 meters from my house. It was installed in place of the previous box that will driven through by someone a while back. They actually smashed through the box and the wall behind it. Probably was getting frustrated with waiting for a speed upgrade...

Looks like a normal telephone exchange...but I'm not entirely up to speed on the various flavours of coloured boxes.
