Telkom Speed upgrades

Quick question:

I have a 2Mbps line and should've been upgraded to 4Mbps, it shows 4Mbps on the checkadsl website but my router still only connects at 2048Kbps.

If I phone Telkom now and ask to do a profile reset, will they screw up my billing, i.e. "upgrade" me to 4Mbps manually, outside of the free upgrades that are happening now?

Just phone telkom and ask them to upgrade your profile.

My 4mbps line hasn't been upgraded to 10mbps either, because my exchange could only handle 4mbps. Yesterday they told me that the exchange has since been upgraded to handle 10mbps, but I'm still syncing at 4mbps. They said my ADSL profile is also on 10mbps already, but that the line is still 4mbps, and that I need to wait for it to upgrade automatically, there's nothing they can do.
:/

Yeah and if you read mine you'd know that the geniuses at the call centre don't even know what a profile is...

Use the adsl checker to confirm if you are upgraded

Its devious mweb.
I had similar issue as you during the first scheduled upgrades. I applied for a 1mb line with mweb managing line and data. And when the upgrades happened about a over a week later I didn't understand why I was not on 2mb.
Upon investigation I discovered that mweb had put me forth for a 384 line and not the 1mb line as requested because they where aware of the upgrades scheduled and about to take place a week later. Resulting in me then moving to 1mb instead of 2mb!

When I discovered that I cancelled everything with mweb and moved my line to be managed by Telkom directly and moved to OW as ISP.

Thanks for the info but I was upgraded to a 2 meg line which was managed by afrihost at the time - it's only since I moved to my line to mweb that this must of happened & I did receive a call from mweb a couple of months ago asking if I wanted to move to a 2meg package & mweb advised that my line speed was running at 2 meg (I declined as I was happy at 1 meg) - however as I said I called telkom yesterday & they said the line speed is 1 meg?? How can I resolve this?
I must also add that my speed dropped a lot when the line was moved to mweb GGRRR (worst mistake I made!!)

ADSL checker's been saying I've been upgraded for 2 weeks now. It also incorrectly reports the exchange speed. That thing is notoriously messed up.

Ditto.

According to the checkadsl site I've been on 4Mbps since Monday but my router still connects at 2048Kbps.

Finally got upgraded but my SNR is horrible now, 6.5db, is there anything Telkom would do to help me?

Just spoke to DSL Support and was helped by an extremely helpful lady (Vineshni(sp?) - thanks!!) - Apparently I'm already on the 4MB profile, she confirmed again and then also did a port reset.

Will reboot the router tonight and see if I connect at 4MB. If I still can't connect at 4MB I need to log a call and have a technician come out and investigate.

I don't understand the problem though, I was running on 4MB earlier this year before I downgraded; Nothing has changed on my side. Must be a mess-up on Telkom's side.

I am running 2 ADSL lines, both syncing at 6Mb. One line has SNR of 12db and the other is on 6.5Db :/ and Telkom is being no help and trying to blame the distance of 2Km
Line with 12Db is running perfect, Other not so much, just dropped it from 10 down to 8 and now 6.
