Telkom Speed upgrades

Managed to get bumped to 2Mbps by contacting TelkomZA on Twitter. Best ever! Happy chappy over here :D

I have called again today, and today the operator was very helpful. My line is now connected at 2mbps. Yay!

log into your router
normally 10.0.0.2 or something.

It display the following info;

ADSL Modem
ADSL Firmware Version
Modem Status
DownStream Connection Speed 4096 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 512 kbps
VPI
VCI

You will either have to wait or contact them to find out if your area has been upgraded.
I only realized my area had been upgraded by looking at the router settings.

My one says 4 megs max and 10 line speed so we must be on different exchange, you could be on pelham one.
 
Ok, so I was on the fastest product. Got upgraded to 10Mbit 2 weeks ago but it only synced at 7Mbit. So today I downgraded to the faster product which worked immediately but it is only syncing at 2Mbit. What bull**** is this? I thought the 2Mbit upgrades were complete.

Anyone having a similar experience.

what speed did you down grade to ?

Why not stay at 7meg?

Upgrades are only finished next year.
 
TelkomZA kindly logged a fault on my behalf. My exchange is at 10Mb but my line is only syncing at 6Mb. He is getting the techies to have a look. Great service.

Good value there. especially considering the uncapped data prices if you move to higher speeds
 
Is there any way to find out when your exchange is going to be upgraded?
