Telkom versus Vodacom, MTN

It's not the relationship that prohibits this, it is the terms of their license. Telkom has a fixed line license while only mobile operators are allowed to provide full mobility.

Um no. Part of telkom's agreement with Vodacom is that Telkom isn't permitted to do cell tower handing over.

Once they sell their stake in Vodacom, you'll have it.

I wouldn't use them JUST because they've shafted me all these years - regardless of price.

I want those outta bundle rates with voda!
Although I dont see that happening till telkom poses any sort of a challenge

Made use of this device roughly 6 weeks ago and I can vouch for it. The tower-tower nonsense is frustrating when using their mobile phone service but for browsing (in fact, even played a few games of Call of Duty with roughly 60 ping), the device really does work nicely.

The software is user-friendly and stability and latency are very reasonable, considering the alternative wireless options. The device that I tested did not have HSUPA capabilities though.

No Voice handover only

Their relationship with vodacom doesn't allow them to do handover. Once they sell their vodacom stake it won't be an issue anymore.

Telkom is only not allowed to do Voice Handover ! I am a bit confused as to why theres no data handover !

Close, but this is still not 5c per MB - when will they listen to me. I specifiaclly said 5c per MB.

Im sorry but wtf is with the "no tower to tower handoff"? Yet again it seems Telkom take a technology that works well and has been proven and completely toffee's it up in the implementation stage.

On a different note, I see it is also only available in jhb / pta. So for me its no biggie as I cant use it anyway.

Well obviously you have no idea that telkom only has a fixed line license

EDIT: I see that I must read the thread before comenting, as this has already been discussed :)
