So I ordered an Afrihost sim on 2014-09-29. The same day I ordered a Telkom line. The Telkom line was installed on Thursday and I applied to have the line upgraded to ADSL. Today the line got activated... and today my sim card arrived from Afrihost. I say that Telkom was faster, because my line was syncing before the courier arrived today.
So it took the same amount of time for me to apply for a Telkom line and then get it upgraded to an ADSL line as it takes for Afrihost to send me a sim card. I am in East London so that might have impacted delivery, but we still a metro and things could be a little snappier. They could have sent it via normal postal to get the sim to me faster
