I Hate Telkom as much as U but ....

I hate Telkom as much as u but at R149 for 500mb and a download speed constantly of more than 1mbps, sorry to say they leave me with no choice but to use their network. When NeoTel gives us a R99 pm for 1 GIG even if its at EDGE speeds I will take it. In a meantime u enjoy MTN nd VodaCom and their slow speeds and high prices. What is the difference between R2 a meg and 30c out of bundle. With 300mb. Ie R600 nd R90. U choose R600 MTN/VODACOM or Telkom R90.

support them only if they have a good prepaid rate. The trick is not to be tied up with any paperwork. This might influence other companies more to become competative..
 
Jip, will be interesting to see what prepaid will be like, then there's no accounts worries.
The auntie at Telkom store says prepaid will likely only be avail from Mar 09... some Icasa licensing BS...

Strange, when I was at the telkom shop the lady said I was forced to take a contract only and when I asked her about the 7 day trial, she said I can buy the modem in full only and I cant take it back if Im not satisfied. These people are morons. They wouldnt even give it to me over the counter. They said I have to first "order" it over the phone and then get it from them.

I'm sorry, I did'nt see u were in Durbs where u probably don't have a lot of choice.
Fortunately I don't have to use the 2nd rip off artists, MTN and VC, in Jhb because Screamer telecoms switched on its WiMAX network here a few months ago and they charge R143 for a 500Mb on a 1Mbps line AND you don't have to pay the 1mbps ADSL line fee or Telscum line connection fee.:D

That's what I meant by supporting the new Telecoms operators. If they survive then real competition hot's up.
 
Are we going to start a speed thread? I want to know how online gaming is with the Telkom offering.
 
In Potchefstroom I am getting full signal strength on a WCDMA network... does that mean... I can use Telkom 3G?
 
When it hits durban... I going to take a it. Only on prepaid. Vodacom has been ripping me off way to long. Its time for someone new to rape me! ;)

Got my phone today. Huawei ETS6630. Looks similar to Neotel product. I had to change my number though. But hey I got a phone again!

Thank you Telkom, this product is going to fly! Hope you guys have enough stock!:D
 
I applied for my sim two days ago hopefully I can start testing this weekend. Telkom is the only one of the telco's who provides decent 3g coverage in my area.

What makes me sick is that they always deploy Coverage/Infrastructure in the city CBD's!!!! Neva just outside maybe they are missing a market of people because they only deploy service in CBD of cities. Then they stop and sit back to relax while we sit without broadband!

When Telkom 3G come to durban, I moving over... the cheapest provider with the best speeds will always get my hard earned $$$$$'s
 
Have sent Telskommel an email asking that verry question over 4 days ago. Seems their staff had taken an early christmas holiday because the consumer support people haven't replied yet.

Would be a suprise if they offered 3g internet without their bogus 'line rental scheme' as well.
