TelkomInternet - Capped Users for May 2007

Uhmmmm so the system isn't automated, YOU have to cap people manually?

Anyway I'm on a 1Gig account from Telkom and the SASA utility isn't authenticating so I can't even check my usage...bah

weird. PM me your username and I can see why it is not authenticating - I can also send you your usage.

Can't you give us like maybe 10Gigs bonobo? I mean 1 gig is ridiculous, just put an extra zero *by mistake* ;)

EDIT You've got PM bonobs

everyone wants to 'take take take' ... corruption doesn't work like that - you must give first ;)

Now what is it I really need ....

Good work.

lol...

a 3Gb telkom internet account as it stands atm gives you a minimum of 6Gb for less than R250 a month if I am not mistaken. Show me a provider that gives you 6Gb cheaper...

1Gb atm the moment you get a minimum of 2Gb.
2Gb gives you minimum 4Gb.

The more I reduce people getting 20Gb+ the more that the likelyhood of those numbers increasing is.

People seem to be upset that you can no longer hammer the bandwidth from Telkom, but are quite happy to be restricted even further from other ISPs. That sounds like cutting your nose off to spite your face...

So which is it? 1GB is hardcapped or 1Gb is softcapped?

hehe.

Cutting your nose off to spite Telkom? Sure. I am not sad that you cannot hammer the bandwidth any longer. I am just happy that people are finally moving away from the Monopoly and looking at other options.

The fact that Telkom can just decide to offer double the bandwidth for the same price is exactly what is wrong with telecoms in this country.

They can do whatever they want and other ISP's have no chance to compete.

I am all for competition, I come from the UK where competition has been of huge benefit to both consumers and to BT. The problem you are upset with surely has nothing to do with Telkom but more to do with Neotel have had their license for how long now and done what? Posted some fancy ass adverts on the NI/MI interchange ...
It must be even more disappointing to discover that after they obtained their license, they want to move into the 'wireless' market. Like there is not enough players in that space already of which Telkom are not the monopoly.

dry your eyes.

Although i can't get the huge gigs anymore it is still worth my while with TelkomISP. I have to look at the figures and i can't get it cheaper elsewhere. If you don't use a lot of bandwidth then, obviously you can shop around

LOL. A chelsea fan! I should have known

And trying to shift the blame onto Neotel? Sis! That is not gonna wash either.

The only reason we are so disappointed that Neotel havent managed to do anything concrete yet is because of the terrible job Telkom have been doing up to now.

Come now...
What is stopping Neotel? Are you trying to say that it was Telkom's fault / influence that Neotel are only looking at wireless?

come ashore...

I would not put it past them. BUT that is not the point at all.

It is Tlekom's fault that telecoms in this country are behind countries like Ethiopia and Mali.

It is Tlekom's fault that the prices are so high.
It is Tlekom's fault that the speeds are so slow.
It is Tlekom's fault that the caps are so low.

First things first, we gotta get rid of the caps. Now that I know how easily it is to eat up a gig or 2 in a few days raising caps is a priority.
