Interesting, in future when you buy a house, find out your internet speeds.

It was on my list when house hunting. It wasn't top of my list but it was a factor. A lot of new complex's and estates don't have Telekom infrastructure. If you ever lucky though some of the more expensive ones have their own fibre connections

I recently had my 4Mbps ADSL installed and asked the Telkom guy what I could do to have my ADSL speeds upgraded to 10Mbps which I had gotten used to. He said no problem and picked up the phone and spoke to the Telkom NOC to arrange that my line be moved to the local IMAX box.

I waited a week and its now perfectly stable at 8Mbps (I live a bit too far for 10Mbps)

So phone Telkom now and demand IMAX (or even better MSAN!) "

Moving house, yes.

Unless they re-plan your entire area's cable infrastructure and re-route your distribution cable, you have no chance.

I am a little confused here. My line has been upgraded form 1Mb to 2Mb yesterday. My download speeds are still around 100KB/s. Was the upgrade done by Telkom only for the line and not the data package?

If your ISP is Telkom Internet then it is possible. Contact 10210 and confirm that your ISP account has also been migrated to 2Mbps.
 
TelkomZA, who can I shout at to get the inept Telkom techs in our area to fix a line problem that has been going on for almost 10 months now?
Seriously, I want to physically shout in someones ear, maybe then something can be done, as asking nicely obviously does not work.

Get your techs to fix the line problem, and not close a fault when they have done nothing to actually fix it.
10 months and counting.

Have iBurst techs started working at Telkom? Seems that way with the "speed" that things get done.
