Bad connection

Hi TelkomZA

Fault 763CRK020114

Since more than a year I have the problem that

a) the speed is way too slow
b) I'm losing the connection to the exchange all the time (atm every 5 minutes ...)

I have had quiet a few 'technician' here but I'm sorry to say ... useless.

Please help me to sort that out!

I have sent a few PM's to you on a speed issue but have not had a response. Please check and reply when you get a chance. I'm quite sure looking at reponses here you've been rather swamped.

I was told today that telkom can't intall ADSL at my house due to constant cable theft.The techie told me a solotion for me could be W-CDMA.
Now for my question: Can this W-CDMA be used like a Fixed Line Look Alike (FLLA) and combine it with a telkom uncapped ADSL pakage or any other ISP pakage?

I'm not getting any responses either.

Sent a question about the exchange in my area back in November. Got a response about two weeks later asking for further details, and then nothing since.

Do u have any idea when u guys will be upgrading the Exchanges to 10 Mbps in Waverley PTA.

I don't think TelkomZA is one person btw... all the twitter messages are signed with different initials...
 
Is there any point to this thread - seems Telkom are not particularly interested in the comments posted here???

If a Telkom rep is browsing ... may I ask the quickest way to re set my port - my 4meg line is slower than an outcome of the Farlam Comission.

Previously his responses on this forum was pretty quick. Less than a day. However I am also still waiting for a response to my PM that I sent yesterday.

I always worked with the same guy on the forums, so maybe there is just the one for here and he is on leave. Would have expected a stand-in though.

I find it a bit difficult to post a ping result on twitter, so that wont work.

Previously my PM's were answered quite quickly.

Now they appear to be languishing.

Which is a pity as there is a serious problem, and many people have been asking for some hint as to what is going on for days now.

It's actually ****ing pathetic.

If the rep ain't going to be a rep, then MyBB should remove their rep account. It is only a recipe for frustration if they are going to pretend to have someone on here.
 
Telkom has not solved my problems from 3 years ago!!

I am using this forum in desperation to solve my Telkom ADSL internet problems. I have phoned the help desk so many times and the problems do not get sorted out.

The Problem:

1. The Telkom telephone cable from the house to the telephone pole needs to be replaced. It has been spliced so many times there are more splices than cable in the area near to the house.

2. The internet is supposed to be 2 Mbits/sec. Data is downloaded at 35kBytes/sec it should be 230kBytes/sec.

3. The line is often dropped by the modem and then it reconnects. The netgear dgn2200 internet light remains red after a reconnection and the speed remains low and intermittent.

What I have done:

I have reported this SAME problem to Telkom (10210) NUMEROUS times.
My latest reference numbers (ONLY FOR THIS YEAR ALONE) are
439286
439538
175cwk060114
563cwk080114

Three years ago I reported this same fault and a Telkom technician (Benny Walker) came out and said the cable needs to be replaced. He went to the depo and logged the call. Nothing happened. I reported it again, another Telkom technician came out (several months later) and said the cable needs to be replaced. He logged the call and nothing happened. A third Telkom technician came out about 1 year ago. He logged the call and nothing happened.
I have been phoning the help desk (above references) and explaining to them all the details. All that happens is the telephone line goes beep,beep a few times and then I get an sms to say "The telephone line has been restored and if the problem persists..."
I also check on the telkom's web site and see that the fault report is then closed (each time after reporting)
The modem speed remains slow and intermittent.
The red internet remains on as I type this.
The cable has still not been replaced.

Could somebody please advise me what to do. How can I get the cable replaced and the internet speed / intermittent faults fixed?
Or is this impossible? Would it be better to disconnect the telephone line and move to one of the 3g carriers?

I think it's becoming a bit of a bad reflection on Telkom if they don't even bother responding to a clear issue.
Just a msg to say "we're working on it" would be better than silence.
