Hi Guys

I have talked to Telkom Customer care, apparently the Dsalm in Elspark Germiston is down.... hence me not having any internet for the past 2 days.

Are you able to confirm this and perhaps find out if someone is working on it or if there is a resolution time?

If TelkomZA could reply to my PM please, would be great. The issue is causing a huge mess in my life right now and its over a week and still not resolved.

Fyi Charl is the best. If only everyone at Telkom could work like he does. :[

What is the Telkom number to phone for ADSL orders?

I spoke to somebody from Telkom on Wednesday (they phoned me) at which time I ordered an ADSL line and service. She said that I could expect an SMS from them as confirmation. I have not yet received anything which makes me wonder if she took down my cell number correctly.

Does anyone know what the normal procedure would be? How long do I have to wait for them to install?

It shouldn't take long maybe phone them again just to confirm she did take it down correctly???

Yeap also still waiting for a replay...

No connection in my area since Tuesday last week, seem every time I call they keep telling me technicians are working "around the clock" to resolve me issue.... Somehow I very much doubt that!

Been waiting 2 weeks now to repair my line.

Your Call Centre and Agents is a joke.

At least try and be professional or pretend to give a ****.

PM send speed issue week after upgrade.
Can only achive +/- 1/3 of my line speed.

So nobody can help me with a phone number for Telkom ADSL installations?
I dont want the 10... number as I wont be phoning from a Telkom line.

There is no free number if you're not phoning from a Telkom line. 10210 for consumer, 10212 for business.

That's one great benefit from Telkom. I hate calling these other ISP's numbers and Jo'burg.

Anyone having high latency issues after working hours? I cant play Diablo at all because the lag is just too insane, but if I switch to my Afrihost account then everything works perfectly, WTF is going on Telkom? Is this the service that I am paying for? Logic dictates that this is caused by congestion with all the upgrades that were done, so what is being done to handle this extra load??? DO i have to cancel my Telkom account and move ISP??? This is really getting on my nerves. We should only pay Telkom for the service we RECEIVE and not the service we EXPECT.

Also having this issues in Cape Town, getting 1.5Mb down on a 4MB line capped account??

Yeah i get about the same, its not worth paying for a 4mb line if we cant use the damn thing, I only use my net AFTER working hours, and that's when $hit gets congested, utter BS!!

How many people is there working in the call center picking up calls when u dial 10210 option 4 for cancellations?? ...average call wait time is more than 30mins !! I logged a query on the website last week since i'm struggling to get through to the call center - yet to receive a reply.

What a mission to cancel a line.

This is using Telkom ISP capped account which is becoming useless, will need to switch ISP's ASAP

Dont know if the modem is the problem?
Dont know if my Telkom ADSL modem brand DLink DSL-2750U might be the problem. Read on the forum that there were cases reported of slow downs.
Running on a new ADSL modem not Telkom brand.
