TelkomZA

I have an intermittent fault on the voice side of my line which I've PM'ed TelkomZA about. Anyway I've just had an interesting SMS session with their quality dept, last two messages follow:

Based on your answers, we may want to contact you. Do we have your permission? Please reply with 1 (Yes) or 2 (No). Telkom thanks you for completing the survey.

... to which I responded with 1 and received

Thank you for your response. What is your reason for the rating of 1?

So apparently they were busy with upgrades to our exchange, so no new ADSL connections could be made. Was told that work should be completed within the next 7 days, once that was done, they would complete the pending orders. Will give them a call today to find out the progress, as I called them Monday last week.

They took my number at the Telkom Direct store and said they would call me. Is that what you were told?

Yes, I had to write down my details in a book they have specifically for the dongles being out of stock.

I don't think we'll ever get that call.

I went to the Canal Walk branch.

Any ideas anyone? refuses to connect, Line Syncs, tried 4 routers and three different ISP's accounts

Would like to send a special thanks to @TelkomZa for assisting with my query. Much appreciated :)

@TelkomZA, can you confirm the the whole Kraaifontein exchange is down and will be down for the next 8 days? I just want to know who is pulling my chain and who is not!

@TelkomZA, hope you can assist as my line instability is driving me nuts! I've logged multiple calls regarding line instability every time they say they've done a port reset and then its ok for a a day or two. I've done ping results to show the drop in packets. Sincerely hope you can assist. Test1 was done on Wednesday at about 11pm and test2 was done last night about 19h30. http://pastebin.com/4KKVSB12

??? Why? It's usually better that the topup gets used after normal bandwidth. Just gauge your usage and make sure you use it then
The topup was purchased on the 25th and expires on the 25th of the new month. If the topup is used first the normal bundle will continue to the end of the month otherwise the purchased topup will expire without being utilised and a new topup may have to be purchased.

I can confirm that no way will they deliberately bring down an entire exchange. That specific one has a 72 hour back up system in anycase. Whoever told you that is bullschitting you.

A massive thank you to @TelkomZA for getting my ADSL re-activated a full 2 weeks sooner than what I was told was possible by the call centre.
You guys rock :)

An unnamed supervisor at Telkom call centre. He refused point blank to give his name.

My connection has been down from Monday night. It refuses point blank to authenticate....it syncing fine but no connection. ....i am extremely frustrated right now as i am hemoraging money by the minute!

Thanks TelkomZA for moving me to a different DSLAM and resolving my congestion issues within a week - Great service.

Our ADSL was activated this evening but when trying to set up the router, get a error message "Your ADSL line has not synchronized".

Tried with and without the filter but get the same error message. Checked the phone line and the is dead, if I call from my cell it rings but nothing comes through to the phone. The line/order was verified online. Any idea, do I need a technician to come out?

It's disconnected at the blue box.
