I configured an F5 firewall on the other side of the internet, making sure only specific ports are exposed to the internet. However, when I tested closed ports using telnet via internet, it appears as if telnet is successful, i.e. the CMD line window clears out when I hit (<ENTER>. This was tested via MTN LTE internet.
When I test via Vodacom LTE internet and Telkom LTE internet, closed firewall ports will cause telnet to time out with an error, as expected.
Via MTN LTE I seem to get successful telnet behaviour, even into arbitrary ports such as:
telnet www.google.com 12345
Can anyone else replicate this behaviour via MTN LTE internet?
