Testers Wanted - Netflix DNS Proxy

Been having problems with netflix last few days. When i watch a series after i watched a episode and the next one starts it will say your region is not supported. When you choose a movie to watch it will also say your region is not supported but after a few tries it works? Any help please?
This article may answer your question. See tutorial for the various routers at the end of the article.

Edit: In other words you need to set up static routes in your router.

@Balky just setup static routes on my router. Will let you guys know if it worked. And thanks for your post!

Static routes did not work for me. I went back to 3.7.1 netflix client and now it's working great again. Don't know for how long.

jsheed_sa, thanks very much for this. I set my PC DNS to your IP and was able to reactivate my old Netflix US account and view on my PC. I am now going to try get my Samsung Smart TV set up with Netflix.

This is an experiment to see how I can get some kind of content other than what I purposefully download (from friends with ADSL). I am on a farm with very limited connectivity and for my Internet connection I have Afrihost mobile data (10+10GB) through a MiFi. Max signal I can get is 2 bars 3G.

What I want to see is 1) if this connection can support Netflix and 2) whether 20Gb will suffice to compliment my downloaded content.

I was considering the Altech Node as it doesn't need bandwidth or good comms but if I take the R300 monthly sub and add another R200 i could get 20 more Gigs. and not have the R3500 entry cost.

In effect your free service has helped me decide. So thanks once again.

You can get node on contract without the entry cost. It's R500 a month and it includes 2GBs of data.

I don't do contracts and then I would ultimately still be paying the high cost for the Node. But thanks anyways. Point I was trying to make is that thanks to the OPs free service it helped me get back to Netflix which ultimately saves me money.

Doesnt work with Netflix on Samsung TV, apparently an issue with Samsung Smart Hub which is a balls up.

oh yea, i have been using the proxy of late - been watching a lot of stuff on hulu.

works 100% all the time - i have never had a problem

Would it be possible to cater for bbc & itv by any chance?

Entirely possible but at this point not 1 single person has donated a penny.

If you'd care to raise some donations then I'd make it happen. Until then I can't afford to fork out for hosting with no support.

This has been working great for me on both my samsung smart tv's, just the last few days after a router reset.. I can't seem to access netflix for an hour.

Completely understood.

Just thinking how we could raise donations here as MyBB generally does not allow that. If everybody using it could throw in R100 it would be a good start.

I've checked and cheap UK hosting for a VM is probably around $60 US a year.

So if I could raise that then i'd look at doing the UK stuff etc.

Hi guys,

This service has been open and operational for 4 months.

It's been entirely self funded with no assistance from the community. I was hoping that over time people would contribute and try and lessen the load, but as always its a case of use and abuse. As such I will be shutting it down from the end of the month unless some funding is forthcoming.

I simply can't afford to keep paying for hosting if everyone is going to freeload.

Cheers,

How/where do we pay? Can you perhaps setup a donate page? I'll buy you a crate of beer.
