Thailand Trip Report

Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka is my next trip.

In Japan they dress up for Disney in Tokyo, then in Osaka is universal studios with Mario Land, Harry Potter and Minion Land.

Kyoto is their cultural capital.

By the time he goes most are 4-5 star hotels at the places where he wants to go, but it takes a bit of planning and monitoring.

Off to Phuket in Feb, any recommendations of a island hopping tour and where to book it?

I heard it's much cheaper to book in person but any guidance on a place and price range will be appreciated

Phuket is probably the least enjoyable part of Thailand, and so many people go on cheap package deals and go home again thinking they have seen what Thailand is about.

That being said, it's still enjoyable. Your best bet would be at the tourism desk in your hotel. Most have these. If not, the hotel can recommend. They generally have good recommendations.

Dont buy it at the airport or hotel. There are many small kiosks around the towns that sell them cheaper.

Check the internet for a price before You go to the kiosk to get an idea.

I did one to James Bond island and one to Phi Phi.
Both were great.

You can also get a custom tour if you find a guy with one of these boats.

Anyone know why the prices are so high to fly to SEA at the moment?

Pricing is almost double what I paid in 2018

Yeah its crazy looking at portugal in Oct and its almost 40% up since Jan

Trip to Serbia last year was dbl France in 2019
 
Current in Thailand. Anyone want me to check something out feel free to ask

Streets and dating apps are crawling with lady boys. They really target tourists aggressively so that can be annoying.

I was complaining about this a while back as you need to book 2 months in advance to get affordable. Then Etihad had a flash sale.

We really need a thread for it as these flash sales are rare and have no future requirement

I am curious about the demographics. Also very easy way to meet friends if you are an ugly f'r like me. The apps have options to be friends.

Check the variance between oil and jet fuel of late. I can't explain it, but all airlines have had to increase prices as a result:
