The 200,000+ km thread

ML just did a 600km trip without a hitch... :)
 
I've had:

a) Honda Ballade (1994) with 240 000 km on the clock.
b) Opel Corsa (Sedan) (2001) with 205 000 km on the clock.

Both petrol. They're both long gone but they were good cars.
 
I currently drive a 2004 Mazda 3 which just reached 295 000km.
There is no way in hell Im selling this reliable car.
 
Noone mentioned the Rev counter location or for that matter the framing of the picture
 
This was the Pool Repair Man's milage on his Hyundai Bakkie.

Ml turned 274M today on a 1000km round trip.
Picked up a small leak from the coolant expansion bottle, and more scary, the master cylinder seals packed up at the top of a hill. Managed to nurse it home, now to find some place that sells the seal kits.
 
My highest mileage was 210k kms that got on my 2005 330 BMW, before trading her in. But the difference was at that mileage the car felt like there was only 70k kms on the clock. She never showed her age. Everything still worked perfectly, the doors still had that solid feel to it when closing. No rattles etc. I will accept that it comes down to the the way we care for our cars, so I am speaking from personal experience.

I've driven high mileage cars that just did not have sort of solid feel to it. Steering had major play, gear changes felt like dildo'ing a veteran porn star.

So it's not always about getting to the milestone, but how well the car ages as well.
 
Patched a small leak in an expansion bottle with a high-temp epoxy, some 3000km back. I think the patch will outlive the vehicle.
 
Mazda 6 2010 2.0ltr sitting at 214,000Kms and no problems
 
Currently my 1998 W202 C220 has 398 000km's on the clock and a 1984 W123 230E with 435 000km's.

Both drive beautifully and both have never let me down.
