The 200,000+ km thread

1998 Golf Mk3 GTS... 253,000km - No issues so far.

Quoting this for prosperity... My mates 1997 Polo Classic has just hit 400,000km with only services done and a clutch replacement at 320,000km (water pump and camblets done too). Those old VW engines are solid.

My previous 2006 E87 1 Series BMW (after the Golf 3) had only hit 125,000km odd when nearly all gaskets had to be replaced. At around 130,000km, the valve stem seals were gone. Within 1 year that car cost me around R35,000 - never mind the rest of the other problems it had. Got rid of it.

I don't see many BMW N46 engines with high mileage.

So the XC70 is no more at 238000kms.

Sold it yesterday (and forgot to take a pic)...

At that mileage what was the fuel economy like if you drove sedately?

Auto correct first typed sedated :D

Around 13 in town (up to 16 in heavy traffic), 9/10 on the highway.

Never tried driving sedated, but I'll think about it !

Mini thread bump in order

I joined the club again today!
If all goes well, I'll make a 300k km thread in 3.5 years from nowDSC_0787.JPG

Nicely done!

I'm far from being there again. Astra H is on 108,000km and doing 20,000km a year, 407 is 138,000km and doing 5000km a year.

No one going to say anything about him/her driving and taking a photo?
