The 200,000+ km thread

honda civic VTEC. 334 000 when i wrote it off.
used to race it at tarlton and odi all weekend, then monday morning drive off to majuba power station... or witbank .. for work etc..
didnt miss a beat!
if yol thort that was high, get this: car i drove before: 94 honda ballade 180e. almost 550 000kms when i sold it. not one mod, not one extra drop of oil in between services. flawless!
 
Nissan 1400 , 87 model currently on 375k km, still going strong. Body is a bit fu#$% but other than that no major parts were replaced.

Lol where do you drive to ?

I wonder if the brand new cars today will last long enough to do 200 000 + ... doubt it built like cellphones, last till the new face comes

Opel Corsa Bakkie 1.8 Sport, 2007, got it with 30 000 km and now on 209 000 km. Got a 2001 Scenic 1.6 that I drove to 200 000 km and then handed it to my staff as a pool car and is now on 290 000 km.
 
I'll come back and post in this thread in 10 years if I still have the same car...

I also wonder how the quality of newer cars compare to the old cars.

my dad had a opel cadet with 265k on before he sold it (cant remember the year). pistons and valves collided at 230k somewhere.was to young to remember why.

has a '98 corolla now with 235k on it. had to do work recently.
 
2000 Golf 4 GTI,
Sold it recently with 272 600 on the clock.
Still going strong.
 
Recently sold the wife's Toyota Corolla 16v DOHC model with 225k on the clock. Would have kept it if it weren't for the rust. Engine was still good.
 
Sold my '88 318i with 310k on the clock. Loved that car. Sold my 2002 A4 1.8 with 320k on the clock. Hated that car.

Yeah I had a 2002 BMW that I just sold, nothing broked other than those stupid cup holders. It had 140k on the clock and was ready to go easily another 100k , my brother had an audi A3, it literally broke one day after motor plan expired, some engine coil thing went. He sold it the week after that, it didnt even reach 100k but he hardly did any driving
 
Conquest '96 with 240k on the clock. Bought it 3 years ago and had problem recently with starter/ignition.
Paintwork is in a bad state but serviced regularly (not at agents, the local mech).

I'd like to know, do you guys get services done by:
1). Agents
2). Local mech
3). Bosch or similar franchise
4). DIY

Nice thread, we can learn a lot from others.
 
2004 VW polo 220 000 on the clock.
:) 780 000 to go till I reach a million :D
