I still have the car, unfortunately and fortunately i was promoted which has me sitting in an office now, together with me moving to jhb i stopped putting high mileage on the car, i now use my Fiesta so the Hyundai is resting at home. She has 544000KM now, would really have like to hit 550k km but looks like i'll be selling since i have no need to drive that car anymore.

Still hasn't given me any issues needs rear suspension bushings to be done (never been done before). Will post a pic tomorrow when i go home.

Regular services and I don't see why any modern car can't do double or triple this distance?

Unless it's that thingy where stuff is designed to fail so that we have to buy more stuff?

Part of the achievement is if you can put that mileage on the car. Many people are dealership whores caught in the endless cycle of trading in every other year. Thus far the only car I put 200,000km on was my Astra G, got it with 29,000km and traded it in at 235,000km.

Ah, so the achievement is actually owning a car for an appreciable length of time, rather than the amount of mileage on it? My renault will be 11 in July and has around 150k kms only...

I'd say 50/50 doing the mileage yourself and having a car that has done that.

Doubt I'll do 200,000km in the 407 though - that would mean taking it up to 330,000km, honestly with the mileage I do it would be an achievement if I take it too 200,000km. Booked for the annual service on Tuesday and I know it ain't gonna be pretty. At least I have the pedal switches for the cruise control that need to be replaced, but when cold the first few left turns are very rough... I'm guessing CV joint is a goner from my enthusiastic pulls. :(

Dammit!! I drove it this morning, and completely forgot about the pic, I'll set a reminder, though it'll only be in 2 weeks.

It's my first car, second owner, got it at 89k km in beginning of 2008. Would like to keep it, problem is I don't use it now. I drive it for a few km every 2 weeks when I visit my parents, keep it on a solar panel so at least the battery doesn't die. Between that the Fiesta and my bike vehicles are costing me a few pennies every year.

It's the most reliable car I've been in contact with, beating out all the Toyota's. Resilient too, 1 of the 2 times in my ownership that I've been stuck I had a water leak, in my stupidity I drive it overheating, looking back I do not know how the head gasket didn't blow.

I'm actually quite tempted to put down an offer for it lol. They are fun little cars to own. Cheap as chips to run, too
 
Just checked our Ford Focus 2005 yesterday sitting on 352000km
Only thing, small oil leak due to rust on sump, will replace soon. Other than that normal maintenance + wheel bearings done. Nothing major.

My sump is made of aluminium, wir leben autos. :D
