Pace, power, great passing ranges- fantastic midfield. Add in the intelligence of Holtby, and the counterattacking threat of Bale and Lennon, and you have a highly impressive team. All they need is a top class striker- so I sincerely hope that they sign David Villa.

Nah he wasn't getting enough game time with Mandzukic up and coming he was getting more sub and less time playing... If it was Fiorentina it would have to be Spurs or the likes

He's a world class striker. Lead the Bundesliga in scoring 3 seasons ago and was second 2 seasons ago and now he's gone.

I'd take him over Mandzukic if you ask me.

Why don't they end the transfer window before the season starts? (EPL)
At the moment it ends at about three games into the season.
That's why some teams have such a bad start to the season.

I think in terms of fitness and pace Gomez has nothing when compared to Mandzukic, I'm guessing why he was let go has most likely got to do with Pep's formation - lack of strikers with Gotze filling Messi's role, etc

Take nothing away he has that towering build and strength and poacher ability of Inzaghi, if United needed strikers I'd say buy him - perhaps Arsenal should have looked at him as an option


I think these players are worth looking at: Christen Ekrisen, Kevin Stootman, Fábio Coentrão

That, and Pep not appreciating a poacher... but they got a really good fee for him.

Yeah, 60mil is a schit load for him. I wouldn't blame United for shipping him out along with that massive salary. I just don't see us being silly enough to actually go for it. The board have been rather strict on salaries for the past few years now, in order to comply with FFP. An additional 250k+ a week won't go down too well...
