02/02/2016 Tuesday 110
03/02/2016 Wednesday111.5

Ouch - chips, beer and bread would have hurt.

I don't think it's a good idea to weigh daily tbh.

I've been working out and dieting since January 11th 2016.

11/01/2016 - 87kg/174cm

Diet:

1 bowl of muesli in the morning (between 08h00 and 09h00)

Half a tin of tuna spread across 6 provitas for lunch (between 12h00 and 13h00)

A piece of meat (chicken breast, red meat, fish, etc) and a cup of broccoli for supper (between 19h00 and 20h00)

I only drink water (besides coffee in the morning), and when I get hungry I'll either drink more water or I'll have some dried banana slices.

Workout:

3 x 15 squats
3 x 15 pushups
3 x 15 mountain climbers
3 x 15 triceps dips
3 x 15 situps

Current weight as of 05/02/2016 - 83.4kg

If you eat a real well balanced diet (Low Carb High Fat) you don't have to exercise portion control, your body will do it for you.

I don't believe in LCHF. I think it is gimmicky and not conducive to long term weight control. I have lost a ton of weight in the past and it all came back. I dropped 20kgs through cutting out all carbs - every last one.

I can't train without any carbs. I get home and am so tired and listless. My family also has a very high prevalence of high blood pressure and heart problems. I am not going to tempt fate. I will just rather get used to a balanced diet and drop the weight more slowly. The LCHF diet may work for some, but not for me.

You contradict yourself.
You said you cut out all carbs and trained like crazy.
Then you said you can't train without carbs.

You lost a lot of weight, you stopped low-carbing and it came back. I wonder why?
It worked for you, you just didn't stick to it as a lifestyle change, you treated it as a quick fix.

How long does your workouts take?

I started on the 7th of Jan. I'm shorter than you and went from 93.8 to 90 trough intermittent fasting and light exercise (bit of jump rope, ab exercise and push-ups at night during the week). I use Myfitnesspal to try and count kilojoules (trying to limit my intake to under 6000) although lately I am eating too much and i don't eat clean or low carb. I do not drink any sugary drinks, but I do drink alcohol on some weekends which is probably not helping.

Considering trying a 24 hour fast but I get pretty hungry at the 17 hour mark.

It usually takes me around 20 minutes each day. Sometimes 30 minutes if it's been a long day.

Welcome! What is your goal weight?

Yes, this is balanced to me. But only eating berries and not things like bananas and apples is not balanced.

Changing the name "broccoli" to "chocolate", won't make kids eat it.
Just as calling something "balanced" make it healthy.

LCHF does not include fruits because of fructose. Yes, nice and sugary. On LCHF the futher you stay away from any kind of sugar, the better. That doesn't make fruits a bad thing to eat. Fruits have lots of goodness in them as well. If I'm lucky enough to push through and reach my goal weight, the only "sugar" I'll be adding to my diet will be a piece of fruit here and there. Definitely not as a rule.

The fact is, carbs (and therefore sugar) is addictive, because of the havoc it creates with your blood sugar and insulin levels. It puts you on a "high" and counters the high with insulin, but then it drops to low and your body starts craving the sugar hit again. Controlling your sugar levels, and therefore you insulin levels, is what you want. This is why they've created things like "low GI" breads, which releases the carbs/sugar into your bloodstream at a slower pace, and trying to not let your blood sugar spike, hence no sudden rise in insulin.

That make sense?
