The 2016 Way Less Objectivity thread

Anyone on LCHF doing exercises/gym.

I'm finding that a low carb diet kills the motivation for exercise.

I notice that the eating/exercise plan followed by actors who have to look good works the best.

I have far more energy and inclination to exercise when low carbing.

100.4 this morning. March has not been good to me. Hoping to go sub 100 by end of this week

What the connection between high BP and LCHF?

I have BP and do LCHF no problem

If you have high BP and following LCHF then you do have a problem.
High blood pressure requires following something along the lines of the DASH eating plan

I have high BP and absolutely no problem with eating LCHF.

Doctor has actually decreased my meds dosage because blood pressure has come down significantly over the last 2 years.

I'm happy for you and hopefully your BP comes down even more and good that you are aware of it, many people don't know they have high BP.
There are eating plans such as the DASH diet that are designed to help reduce high BP whereas LCHF does not, but meh, you eat what works for you.

Go check the last 2 pages of the lchf thread, and explain your thinking if you don't mind.

Dude I'm not saying LCHF causes high BP but it is not an eating style that aids in reducing BP. The DASH diet has proven to hugely reduce BP and it is a very different lifestyle and diet to LCHF. It is also not a weight loss eating plan, though reversions have been made to it to help with weight loss

I have no doubt the drop is partly due to the 30kg of weight I've lost over the years.

I follow LCHF and I stopped taking BP tablets, and my BP trends on the low side - but I also think the weight loss is the reason and not LCHF.

High blood pressure, cholesterol and all the other nasties are more affected by your weight than your actual eating plan. If you loose weight in whatever way you can and can keep it off, you will get a net benefit.

Case in point: the Twinkie diet
For a class project, Haub limited himself to less than 1,800 calories a day. A man of Haub's pre-dieting size usually consumes about 2,600 calories daily. So he followed a basic principle of weight loss: He consumed significantly fewer calories than he burned.
His body mass index went from 28.8, considered overweight, to 24.9, which is normal. He now weighs 174 pounds.

But you might expect other indicators of health would have suffered. Not so.
Haub's "bad" cholesterol, or LDL, dropped 20 percent and his "good" cholesterol, or HDL, increased by 20 percent. He reduced the level of triglycerides, which are a form of fat, by 39 percent.
