oh, just a question... how do you cut fats AND sugar? where do you get your energy from?

Protein, lots and lots of protein. I should have been clearer. I cut refined sugars. Thus, no sugar in my coffee, no form of sweets, but a lot of fruit and veg.

@AntennaMan just watch the fruit, some are very high in natural sugars.

So I ended last week with 106.7kg a new low... i had beers on Friday night (just like 3 castle lites)... and quite a few on saturday afternoon and evening with the Lions game. But through all, I didn't eat anything incorrectly.

Weigh in on Monday put me at 108kg
Tuesday 107kg - Nice.
Wednesday 105.4kg - Holy schit what just happened, calm down, it'll be up again tomorrow, the normal yo-yo effect
Thursday 105.0kg - Even lower, fukk me sideways!!

Haven't updated in a while. Currently 84KG. 1KG past my goal. May go for 80KG :D
 
OK, so I haven't posted in this thread in a long time because I have basically stagnated since the beginning of the year.

Now, I'm going the diet shake route to hopefully kick start my body's metabolism back into weight loss.

Each shake is 625 Kilojoules. I'm drinking two a day in place of breakfast and lunch. I'm using the Biogen, I know it's cheap stuff, but it's working for me.
In order to lose weight I am supposed to eat less than 12,500 Kilojoules per day. So that means I have to eat around 11,000 Kj or less for dinner.
Hopefully will be way less than that in reality. The other part is the discipline to avoid snacks and temptations around me.

I put my figures into several online calculators.... maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Age: 47
Current Weight: 135
Height: 175 cm
Current Activity Level: Light to moderate (desk job - exercise 3/4 times a week).
 
So.. I too have been less that strict with my diet over the last month or 2.. luckily I have not put on any additional weight and I am still at the 90kg mark.

I have a wedding to attend on the 3rd of December in Cape Town, so that's my new target date to lose a reasonable amount (let's say 8-10kg)

Strict Banting didn't seem to work for me, as the carb cravings were too strong and my willpower (especially after having a few drinks) was too weak.

Intermittent fasting seems a easier option as it fits in with my lifestyle. That coupled with a reduction in carbs and sugar should allow me to lose the requisite 2 to 2.5 kg's per month.

Hindu fasting period starts soon as well.. (normally I don't partake, but will use it as an added motivation to stick to a rule for the month, either giving up meat or booze for the period.. perhaps both)
