The 2017 Weightloss Thread

For me its Coffee/Tea but I had to cut the sugar out of it and water, it took some getting used to. I'm pretty sure Powerade is not much better then a coke or a beer :)

For me I was hungry after eating Carbs so I stopped eating them and went heavy on the protein. Protein is supposed to make you feel fuller for longer (according to the book I read anyway). Maybe your body is having some withdrawals or its in your mind, I'm sure for me it was in my mind but I got over it.

Fat makes you feel full longer. Full cream cheeses, aged cheese etc. Protein tends to be quite dense so yes can make you full but also block you up.

i see they have a powerade lite that the reddit keto people use sometimes. i haven't seen this here though. must be an overseas thing.

there is an energade lite here, but I still won't recommend it, still too much sugar in it... you are getting hungry because you are still eating that bread, your body hasn't changed yet... rather try eating more fatty food for energy and to keep you full longer, and if you are hitting the gym I understand that you might be able to eat more protein (but i might be wrong about this one) - maybe ask @Apoc184 since he combines lchf with gym

Arb question for the group, how do you guys determine your weight?

My method is to get on a scale three times in the morning after rituals and take the median weight as the weight for the day. I also don't record large upswings of weight ie: +2kgs as a lot of it is water. As long as my weight doesn't uptick and stay stable, I always work on the lowest weight integer that I measure, chasing decimals just seems like a pain. Also I think if you had to track your daily swings, you'd go mad or get upset, this method has worked well for me nigh on two years now.

Worst swing I've had is 3-4kg. But thats due to splashing out on lots of dry meat ( biltong and wors ) and whiskey/waters, went down after a day or so by about 2kgs and back to normal within a week.

i have a digital scale. if i get on/off 3 times in a row, i'll get exactly the same weight.

Mines also digital but will fluctuate between 200-300g. Sometimes it's stable, sometimes not.

Also funny that depending on positioning on my floor it reads nearly a kg difference. Generally it's pretty accurate though when compared to readings taken at doctors and even work on an industrial scale. Decimals up or down dn't bother me, as long as I make that integer weight bracket. Same with keto, I follow the lazy approach, did the whole measurements thing for a month or so to ensure I was on track and now I just "eyeball" the food. Also my body tells me very quickly if there is a carb/sugar problem. Had fried chips the other day ( about 10 of them ) while away for work, after reaching my initial goal, thought would be ok to have a few carbs. Never again, it flattened me for two days!

After a couple of years of being out of kickboxing I finally made the decision to go back. Will be starting tonight :D

Very excited.

I go to the gym and weigh myself there. Every week at around the same time.

I also put the the scale on exactly the same place every morning right after I've taken my morning dump :D

A little bit early for my "1st day of the month" weigh-in (yes, I do this monthly now), but won't be around for a couple of days.
Still hovering at 77.2kg this morning. Lost some cm around the jiggly bits though, so not all too worried.

I also have a digital scale, put it on exactly the same place and weigh every Friday morning. I usually get on 2 - 3 times just to be sure, but 99% of the time it will show exactly the same weight.
Back up again this week, 132.1, I had a few birthday drinks on Tuesday.

About a month ago I stopped eating bread (any), removed sugar 99% from anything, no sweets, no chips, no baked foods etc. I hit the road with a 4-5km jog daily (at least 2-4 times a week). Burpees (3x10) every evening, skipping rope too.

My jean dropped from 34 to 32(?). 34 is now too big. My small boepie is still there... but working on it.

Starting with gym next week.

edit: I was at 83 about 2 months ago.. haven't weighted again.

Well gents seems I am at a bit of a funny place with this, I am see sawing between 82.5 and 81.5. My eating is definitely not on point the last 3 weeks...

Will hopefully fix this next week. I am really struggling with sugar cravings :(

that's because your diet is not on point yet... once you have your diet in check, the cravings will stop as well.

Weekly weigh in: 103.3kg

No change from last week, but I've been on the road and only got home yesterday so I'm quite surprised it didn't jump up.
