The 2019 Weight Loss Thread - Workout Check-in Thread

Back in the pool today! 30 minute interval training done :) Working on getting a fitbit so I can share my progress. (Any recommendations on brand or type of fitness tracker would be appreciated)

You guys inspire me, every single person that checks in.

Have a peaceful evening.
Get a secondhand one on olx for a steal! And hope to see you round regularly!

Just personal choice but Garmin build quality is a lot better than Fitbit.

Had the Fitbit Charge and 2 x Charge 2. All 3 had issues. Luckily all within warranty period. 1st died completely, new Charge 2 the screen coating peeled and the replacement Charge 2 the charging port came loose .

Decided to swop for a Garmin VivoActive HR after last failure and never looked back. Bonus that battery life is amazing and faces are customizable.

Now looking to upgrade to Fenix 5 for even better HRM accuracy. And it is just so pretty. So hoping for eBucks to come to the party next week.

I was going to get a Charge 3 on the Vitality Device booster but then Dischem had the Versa on Black Friday special at R2899. I'm told they often have big discounts on wearables around the big Sales. I had some trouble synching the Versa to my Huawei P20 Lite initially but there was a firmware upgrade and it has worked perfectly since then

The Versa doesn't have a built in GPS (and links to Phone) which wasn't a problem for me as I use my Tom Tom Runner Cardio for running but unfortunately the latest upgrade to the Vitality App removed the Tom Tom and won't let me add it back as Discovery are no longer supporting Tom Tom :-(

One of my friends has a Huawei Band something pro and it is fairly decent. Some of the recent Huawei devices seem to be similar spec to the Versa but have built in GPS. Might be worth looking at.

The Calisthenics course knocked my upper body muscles a bit so I thought I'd do a bit with my 12kg kettlebell today seeing as I haven't done Kettlebell for a while and seeing as our resident KB enthusiast is out of action.

Swings, one arm swings, alternating Swings, a hamstring exercise that I don't know the name of, Sumo squats and finally clean and press.

Slightly more relaxed treadmill here too

I apologise for my absence in this thread the past 2 weeks. But I am still following all your great progress and hard work.

Been going through a very rough and stressful time at work of late and because of that I have been eating completely wrong. Also why my weigh-ins are missing in the main thread.
I have however managed to keep exercising at least 5 days each week although not even close to my potential and not following regular workout routine, just doing what I feel up to for the night.
Which also means I completely stopped tracking any session because @Sugarman will want poof ;)

So much for my own discipline motto hey!

Depression/Stress is a bastard. But I will get through this like I always do (mainly thanks to my awesome supportive wife) and thankfully I have stayed active to a degree so not completely fallen off the wagon.
All the best to you.
And you are correct.
Poof or it did not happen.

Been lurking for a while. Started taking fitness seriously last year when I started to hear my body creak. Brisk walks with the doggy followed.

Started running last month, and I did my first 5km this morning,

All you guys really inspired me to get there.

And yes, I will make a turn at the weigh in thread soon. IMG_20190330_092136.jpeg

Huawei watch gt...
There should be some cheap second hand ones coming up soon as a pair of new ones are launching.
2 weeks battery life with 24x7 heart tracking active...
