The 2019 Weight Loss Thread

62.9kg this morning. My diet is still very bad, and i fear now with winter arriving I'm going to let it get worse :X3:

FTFY

;)

Seriously though, I have found the more I make a concerted, conscious decision to not have junk food, the easier it becomes. I think it started with evaluating how I physically felt after junk every time I did have any (clue, I feel crap because I no longer really do sugars or carbs), I would then in future weigh up whether the specific item I was tempted into eating was in fact worth it. Is that sh1tty garage pie worth feeling bloated and guilty and horrid for a full day after? No. BUT. Is that Primi Piatti Chicken Liver Pasta once every 4 months (or whatever your poison is) worth it? Absolutely.

All about choices, and while I don't make the right ones all the time, I try and make them most of the time. It's a process. But it IS a choice.

*edited in the hopes that I'm being helpful (aim), and not b1tchy (not aim).

Agreed, I dumped the junk in our house. But I need my sweet "fix". a block of dark lindt chocolate worked perfectly. Everything in moderation. I don't polish of a slab of chocolate in one go anymore but have one block most evenings. Something to look forward too. This is another reason I don't diet. Its all lifestyle change. Healthy whole foods.

Best of luck!

Preach!

I had a garage sausage roll and "energy" drink yesterday because I didn't have breakfast, felt kak and bloated all day thereafter, yet still hungry. Yet last week I had brunch at Fego (poached egg, toast, and bacon) and felt light.

So for me, I have learned to cut back on the starchy and/or fried items and go more for proteins with a little fat even. I feel satiated and can go longer without needing to eat again.

So yes, being conscious about the choices we make is important.

On that note I make sure I have healthy snacks with me at work 2 apples yogurt nuts and seeds

I’ve been feeling despondent of late and started resorting to comfort eating (about two days). This morning I put on a shirt that I bought in 2011 which was never worn as it was slightly tight for me.

The shirt is now too big for me. This was just the inspiration and motivation I needed to start again

That's awesome!

So after hitting the gym hard June-Aug (last year) off then hard Jan to date. I have lost about 6kg since Jan BUT have had some unforeseen um I dont know how to put it um "good" side effects :)

Im not at all focused on bulking up. From my schedule you can see I am into the cardio I plan on running a lot of 21km races by the end of the year 10km race on Saturday will be my first proper race. I can do 30 minute 5km etc but want to do a lot more races. Really pushing the healthy lifestyle this year and going forward.

These are my running stats (im gyming to supplement the running):

Getting back to unforeseen side effects. As part of my usual cardio work out I include 15 minutes on the rowing machine... 6 months later 6kg down NONE of the shirts which I wear for work fit! All sleeves are about 5 CM too short! This is the same size/cut I have worn for 7 years! Was actually a strange realization, was driving to work on Tuesday and thought to myself mmm this looks WAY to short as it has been becoming shorter slowly but surely :)

Oh well 10 odd shirts need to be replaced. Oh well im healthier than ever so ill take that!

Excellent news. Keep up the excellent work

Cursed myself - worst weekend I’ve had in 4 months. Terrible. Embarrassed to report back tomorrow
Same here. Yesterday I was terrible at a work function. So bad that today I was actually feeling ill. Maybe it's what I needed to ditch the carbs once and for all.

Don't stress about this. You've made lots of progress already and maybe it won't be as bad as you expect anyway. One of the benefits of weighing in regularly is that we know quickly when we've put a bit back on and we can do something about it. Focus on sticking to what has been working for you and you will be back on track in no time.
