or on the flip side if this speed improvment is permanent they're cut you off after you hit 4GB call you a dirty abuser and try extort a little ching out of you. This is exactly what I expect from someone selling weed, not broadband

halicon said:I like WBS's hardassed approach... and if people want to complain about being labelled abusers let them, they can always leave the service.
TheRoDent said:And if they do it to you, in the same fashion, would you still feel the same way?
slimothy said:it is? well i thought the big debacle was how wbs could just break a legally binding contract because they felt liek it and because some idiot made a mistake by not throttling certain throttled users.
slimothy said:the reason they didn't send an email saying "Sorry our 64K line is down please be patient while we repair this fault" was because they cant extort money out of you with that, and thats also a key word here, extortion
halicon said:i think alot of people have been shafted unfairly but does it bother me or anger me? no because i am now getting good speeds.
slimothy said:yeah ok if I was one of the users that had slow speeds and today got faster speeds I would be downloading and probably loving it however I would also see that WBS seem to think they have the power to make the rules as they go along and break legal binding contracts whenever they please, they I would ask whens it goin to happen to me. Anyways the problem is not/was not the power users and I guarantee you are not all getting 1mbit right now and I bet theres some people in the exact same position they were in yesterday as far as problems are concerned.
maybe WBS decide later today they would be more profitable with 512kbit connections and then tonight without warning they flip the switch and everyone is on 512, then next week they're like "hey we could be more profitable with 192k". where does it end?
TheRoDent said:You sound a lot like <insert name of other person here> when he was getting good speeds and everyone else got bad speeds. My whole point was that right now it mightn't anger you, but it might in future.
halicon said:i am not saying it is fair or justifiable, but please bear in mind there are going to be 80% of iburst users who have no reason to be angry at this point in time.
Lol Deja vu?TheRoDent said:Heh. Pretty soon iBurst will have a "baddie list" too.
