The Anni Dewani Murder Case

Health and Safety feature more in the UK when it is a high profile case. If it had been Joe Public from Essex who popped off a prostitute in Cape Town, he would have been out here in a flash, symptoms or no symptoms
 
This pr1ck must have his day, he is a danger to society and needs to sit or bend for a long time.

25 years is a decent sentence, dewani would get the same if those ******* in the UK would deport him.

The UK were falling over themselves handing over that hacker to their US puppet masters and the Wikipedia dude now they're not so eager to hand over the slimy murderer. Dewani has a better chance at a fair trial than the hacker and the trumped up charges the Wikipedia guy.

Cape Town - A person believed to be Shrien Dewani had previously organised a hit to look like a hijacking, the Western Cape High Court heard on Wednesday.

A witness on the stand said he found this out when he spoke to shuttle driver Zola Tongo on 12 November 2010, just a day before honeymooner, Anni Dewani, 23, was killed.

Tongo and the witness sat in his silver VW Sharan, where Tongo asked him whether he knew of a hitman, upon request from a foreign man.

"Along the way, I asked him why he was looking for a hitman...He mentioned to me that there is a lady who needs to be killed. But he's not sure because there's two ladies and he's not sure which one to kill," the witness said.

"He said this gentleman was not from here and he had done this before... pretend as if this person was going to be hijacked when actually the person was killed."

The "gentleman's" name was never revealed.

The witness was a hotel worker, who knew Tongo because the hotel often outsourced airport trips or tours to Tongo's shuttle company.

Judge Robert Henney ordered that his name and identity be withheld, for fear of harm or intimidation.

Anni Dewani was shot in an apparent car hijacking while on honeymoon with her husband Shrien in Cape Town in November 2010.

According to media reports at the time, former national police commissioner Bheki Cele had said the police were probing a link between the 2007 killing of an Eastern Cape doctor and Dewani's murder.

Pox Raghavjee was found shot dead in his car in Bhisho, a small town in the Eastern Cape region, but nothing was stolen from him.

The Sunday Times reported that his widow Heather Raghavjee, who travelled to Cape Town to comfort Shrien after the murder of his wife, said allegations of a link between the two killings were baseless.

Tongo, in a plea bargain confession, similarly alleged that Dewani had previously arranged for someone to be killed in a fake hijacking in South Africa.

He was handed an effective 18-year sentence for his role in the plot.

Earlier on Wednesday, Xolile Mngeni pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, robbing and killing Dewani, as well as illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He refused to make any formal admissions, meaning the State would have to prove each fact in its case.

Its amazing how fast the UK was to extradite Julian Assange... someone who has never killed anyone. Yet they stall over this case... where someone was killed. Hectic.
 
If he was a white guy who only pirated some sht, they would be extradited him already.

This is just the liberal way of trying to show minorities "We got your back..... by protecting your murderers..... because apparently we think you are so morally bankrupt that race is quite likely more important to you than justice and we didn't want to offend you..... You're welcome."

It's just like those liberal mups in the US, who fight vigorously to defend black criminals from the "oppressive white system" of capital punishment, because they are black.. Then when they win, they make it out to be a racial victory.. Except those murderers overwhelmingly murder black people, and now the victims justice has been taken away. The irony.

As usual, you dont know your a** from your elbow. the UK is not protecting him. The Home Office have already tried to extradite him, but he appealed, and hearing is due later this year. I know the western concept of a persons right to appeal is something you cant comprehend, but thats how it is.

I could agree but somehow a murderer with a case against him is protected by the courts while a man with no case against him gets the opposite treatment.

It shows there are flaws in the process, if the US wanted dewani you can bet he would be on his way to the US but little SA wants a murderer and the court protect him.

Disgusting in all honesty.

Well it seemed to revolve pretty quickly for assange, so someone important must want him real bad.

The empire wants him, thus the UK complied :D. They were even willing to break international law for the empire.
