Don't see myself dropping R100K to an eBay seller...
I always check reviews.. sometimes might seem dodgy but a lot of times they have good reviews.
There is also the that buyer protection program.

Yeah, those are a little ouch..
Though at current rates you should be able to pay it off in one month :crylaugh:
Always read the fineprint on the buyer protection program - sometimes the full amount is not covered.
As for what's available...

At that price... no thank you lol!
fsck I'm annoyed now! lol!Baikal Giant B from Bitmart sold out![]()

You talking profitability? I'm hoping the multi-algo extends the longevity a bit.
While it is multi algo, the list of mineable coins is very small.. almost as much as the X11 algo so I reckon it's going to get flooded pretty quickly.
Just looking at the daily returns reminds me of when the D3 was first released. A lot of people got burnt buying those machines as the difficulty for x11 coins skyrocketed ( more specifically dash ).
Essentially at that purchase price, you should be good if you can get your hands on the first or second batch. After that it becomes risky.
Otherwise just move to GPU mining like dj2381, but not sure about that either tbh. If you want to make the bucks, ASIC is the way to go.
I thought the same thing, it might be a safer purchase but the ROI is just too long for my liking.
That and to get all GPUs running perfectly is a pain in the rear.
Just make your own frame though.. you can save lots of $$$ that way.
Sometimes you can ROI quicker than what you wait for ASIC delivery lol
Thats if lucky like mining ZCL then sell it when it booms etc.
Yeah, the wait for the ASIC has to be factored in for ROI. 3 months with Bitmain really sucks. Also, GPUs aren't as bad as they were a few months back - at least there's stock. I personally like the fact that I don't have to 'get lucky' and see consistent returns even if it's a tad boring at times.
Hows the noise with a 6 card rig GTX? Any idea how it compares to an ASIC? I know ASICS are flipping noisy, just curious about the comparison. Some of those GPUs can be noisy too.
GPUs are not that bad with noise, slightly lower than ASIC.
Problem is heat. I had 12 cards running at the office. Nearly died without aircon.
EDIT: that's with R580s not 1060s though

I love the idea of a dedicated shed with insulation and extractor on one side / air filters on the other... all cost $$ tho.

This is the key. Don't follow the sheep and mine whats NOW most profitable. Mine something that isn't great and wait for it to pick up. Actually wish I had mined ZCL.
On the note of ROI it's not as bad as before during the shortage. Now it's like 4-6Months. A set of 1050ti's roi in 3.5months.
