I've been following them since the tournament started, they are good, already through to the quarterfinals with a game to spare.

Some discipline is needed though, they could have won by over 7 goals against Burundi, hopefully the coach have some tough words with them and hopefully they respect her enough to listen. If we don't get that right we are not going to survive in the knockout stages.

I guess the real test for them is about to start son in the quarter finals. Even if they don't win the competition, It is okay- as long as they play their heart out.

To the final and they have qualified for the world cup, makes me very proud, this will be Banyana second consecutive AWCON and world cup qualification.

Something else I observed is that Desiree seems to be the only woman coach there, if she goes on to win the victory will be even more special.
 
It will be Banyana's sixth AWCON final, three lost to Nigeria, maybe its a good omen that they are not in the final this time, although Morocco looks an even more formidable opponent.

To be honest, I do not follow them too closely at all. Unfortunately, as with many South Africans, athletes and teams that are not in the mainstream (Men's football, rugby and cricket) only seem to blip the radar when they are doing really well.

Great to see that they reached the World Cup as well and two successive appearances on the bounce is impressive.

I see that Nigeria have been the dominant women's team on the continent, so impressive that they beat them in the group stages on their way to the final.

What has the reffing being like? Morocco is the home nation and CAF, at least on the men's side, has had some questionable reffing in the past when a home team is involved.

I see that Nigeria have been the dominant women's team on the continent, so impressive that they beat them in the group stages on their way to the final.

VAR all the way. Nigeria has been very dominant but a surprise omission is Equatorial Guinea, which SA has lot two finals to. The standard of football is top notch, very impressed by the goalkeepers, the Banyana one in particular has been outstanding.

I also most probably watched because there was nothing else to watch but I wasn't disappointed, womens football has grown in leaps and bounds. Hopefully they groom good youngsters at school level because the pace and physicality is still not at international level but it's looking good.
 
I watched the end of our match and saw the penalty in the 90th minute for the win. I also watched Morocco vs Nigeria and was disgusted by the use of laser pointers. The Nigerian players were shone at from all sides of the stadium. During the penalty shootout, the Nigerian goalkeeper had it in her face for every penalty, and the Nigerian penalty takers as well.

Something really needs to be done about this.

The North Africans and their bullying tactics, hope we beat them in the final.

VAR hasn't been without its faults, but it is good to know that they are using it and not leaving things to chance.

I am familiar with the big teams on the international scene, specifically the US, English and Swedish women's national teams. They benefit from professional leagues, and in the case of England, the top clubs have pumped a lot of money in to developing their women's game in recent years. We'll always struggle to match that, even on the men's side of things where there is more money. But emerging as a major force on the African continent is great nonetheless.

It is poor form when fans do stuff like this.

Should ban fans from sitting behind the goals if they want to do stupid things like that.
