It was a ridiculously stupid mistake by SAFA, but sadly they have done stupid stuff like this before. I seem to remember SAFA claiming that the CAF rules on goal difference were unclear, after we didn't realise that we hadn't qualified for AFCON.
SAFA is now too broke to pay employees, while they could be paying for Danny Jordan's legal fees. I wonder when us the government allowed to act because clearly the board is too captured to do anything.

Maybe never. FIFA may suspend us if government interferes.

Not like Fifa is clean. We being in football is a benefit to them given our economy is the strongest in Africa.

They literally bent the World Cup format to ensure USA never fails to qualify because it cost them a lot of $$$ when it happened in 2018.
 
It doesn't look like FIFA is taking action against us over the Mokoena issue so it's now very likely we will play in the 2026 WC.

Lucky! Lesotho did us a favour by not appealing within 24hrs. I still think we would have qualified, but this helps immensely.
