Some of the other CAF leaders were dodgy characters but Motsepe is not. He created the most functioning team in SA in Sundowns.

I'm pretty sure that he can improve things.

Yes, Chiefs was saved by VAR on their way to the CAF finals, I assumed it would be the same for the WC qualifiers.

Issa Hayatou, all I remember him for is dozing off at soccer games, no idea how these useless people make it all the way to the top.

Unfortunately, VAR is even further away. We can't even get the basic camera stuff right. I regularly watch Asian and South / Central American games and the quality of broadcasts are miles ahead even if the quality of football is rather poor in Asia. The problem is that African football will never be a good product if the quality of broadcasts is so poor. Footage is shaky, the replays are really poor quality, there are only one or two cameras which cover the action. Its a real shame because the football can be exciting and way better quality than Asia.

There was drama at St Mary's Stadium, Kitende as a yet to be identified spectator stood in front of the camera, blocking view of the game on live television.

We need some experience in the team, I can't fault the team for their commitment, the ran their socks of and never looked out of their depth.

Young Ethan Brooks had a good game but we need someone like Jali or Cole Alexander in that midfield.

Kermit Erasmus woudalso not be a bad addition upfront.

Broos is selecting his squads to include players who will be eligible for the 2026 World Cup because his aim is to qualify for that not 2022.

Nascimento is now eligible for Bafana and if he really wanted the best present players, he would call him up.

I understand the bulk of the players will still be young though, so adding a few experienced players is not s big deal, we still need to win games and qualify, there's a long time to add more younger players.

Someone like Siyanda Xulu is not too young but because of his experience he is needed, he will probably drop off for the 2026 WC but his experience will have helped.

Agreed on Nascimento, he is a good player.

It's Bafana wouldn't bet my house on them winning even when they really should. Ethiopia were a bit unlucky on the weekend and Bafana very fortunate. Let's hope they don't rely on luck this go round.
