The Bakkie Thread

2012 Chev Utility 1.4. Had 13000km when purchased now on 116522km. Reliable and fit for daily use.
Previous bakkie was 2006 Ford Bantam 1.3i purchased new but written off in 2013 with 84000km on odo.
Wish I still had mine. You might be happy to learn it can take a knock really well in an accident... I had slight scratches on my hands from the airbags. That was it. Ironically it was a white utility which rammed into me. Driver didn't wear a seatbelt so the ambulance had to take her away...

Sorry about your awful experience. Lucky you are here to tell the story.

Had the same. Sold it earlier in the year. Bloody amazing bakkie that.
Waiting for a next-gen Raptor, in blue. Fsck me if I know when I will find one. And in the meantime, they are getting price increases every time you blink.

I already have about R10k accessories lying in the garage. Rubber interior mats, load bin mat, eazi-down for the tailgate, weather shields, glass screen protector, headlight trim, spotlights etc.

Also lined up the okes to make me a custom exhaust, just the tail pipes. Might do downpipes later.
Gonna do ceramic coating, ppf, smash & grab.

Like so:

The waiting list on those bad boys is terrible. I think it is artificially kept long to justify the price increases... Do those rubber mats say "Raptor" on them? If not, you can save a lot of storage space by just handing them over to me, please and thank you.

When you do find one, make sure the diff does not whine.. you would hear it at 50km/h, 80 km/h and 110km/h.. been a few reports of this from Oz.. seems to be a case of low oil, leading to excessive wear on the gears..
I checked theres a video. Haven't watched it yet.

Currently Nissan NP200 1.5 dci. Previous bakkies in no particular order... Opel Corsa 1.4, Y-series Hilux 4x4 single cab and 2x VW Golf bakkies.
A man should drive a bakkie. Cars and SUV's are for wimmen and other genders.

I dated a chick once who said I should sell my bakkie and buy a car because she does not like riding in a bakkie..
I quietly dropped her off outside her house and drove off in my Hilux..

My wife said the same after I bought the ranger, that lasted about two months, then she started using it for work. We've now gotten to the point where she uses at any time she gets an opportunity. She actually drove long distance willingly for the first time two weeks back, something she really doesn't like, just to get to drive the bakkie again.

Not sure if it's in all provinces but....
The new p0es drivers are the Ford Raptor okes. Actually any big Ford bakkie.

TBH about 80% of drivers on the road quality for the "drive like a **** award). the more expensive the car, the kakker they drive.
