Couldn't find one, so I started one.
Tell me which bakkie you drive and why you chose it. Or tell me why you think bakkies are k*k. Either way, let's talk about South Africa's favourite family vehicle.
I'll start - Ford Ranger with canopy. No oil leaking (as they were once notorious for)...
As per the title this is the second time my indicator relay has burnt out since I got it in 2019. Everything else on the electric system works but this burns. Is there a reason? Is it just a case of a normal high use part breaking or should I look into the matter deeper?

Hi guys, I am currently looking for a second hand 4x4 bakkie.
Things I need to consider:
1) Budget: Max is R350 000

4) Parts prices and reliability
5) Insuarance (not sooo big factor, but yea obviously one)...
Hi guys
So I replaced the clutch cable on my corsa Bakkie 1.4 recently and now have the problem of the reverse gear not engaging without grinding the gears.
The corsa has a pull tab mechanism to engage reverse and when i try to put it into reverse the gears grind so what I've been doing is...
Cable broke today, Im aware its a common problem. I would like to do it myself to save where I can, could anyone give me some instructions on how to replace it? Thanks
Hi all, I'm wondering if I could get some input if possible, Ford Bantam Rocam 2006, engine has 89000ks. Was initially using Shell helix 15w40, no issues, changed oil and filter this time used Midas brand 15w40 (they assured me it was as good) car sounded okay at first but a day or two goes by...
Our family is expanding and we need a vehicle with back seats for a car seat (we currently have a Nissan NP200), but we need a bakkie for work purposes too. We cannot afford a newish double cab ranger, Hilux, Isuzu etc and we would like to buy as new as possible so that the bakkie can last for a...
Not really the 2-door Peugeot I had in mind, but here goes
The French at PSA Group, the company that owns Citroen, DS, and the Peugeot brand, have stated this year that it will launch a 1-ton pickup truck.
At the time, the news went almost unnoticed in their press release, and...
Hi
I am currently shopping for a used small bakkie, sth like Nissan NP 200 or Chevrolet Utility 1.4
I have heard good things about Chevrolet Utility 1.4. Light of petrol was my first impression.
I bed to know more before buying. I am operating on a very shoe string budget and I'm going...
So as the family is getting more into hiking and camping our vehicle needs are changing.
The little Getz isn't hacking it anymore.
We're a family of four, 5 with the Sharpei.
I had a pretty good deal lined up on a 2008 double cab,4x2 Hilux 3.0 Turbo diesel, but the seller is messing me...
I'm considering buying a used bakkie. List of requirements:
Enough room for me to sit comfortably (I'm 2.00m / 6'8")
Single cab
Good fuel economy
Aircon / electric windows
Half ton is enough, 1 ton is ok too
About 100000km on the clock, not more than, say, 5 years old
Not a high risk...

Few things get me so fired up as this; People buying Club Cab (King / Extended / Cab-and-a-half) and then fitting some sort of after market bench seat in the back of the cab.
Firstly its dangerous because from a safety perspective the bakkie was not designed to have occupants in the back...
An eight-year-old girl died and three other people were seriously injured when a bakkie rolled on a rural road of Merchiston on the Natal South Coast on Friday, paramedics said.
"The bakkie was on its way to an Easter convention when the driver lost control of the bakkie and rolled," Netcare...
Hello everybody, my girlfriend and I need a second car and we feel sentimental about the idea of a bakkie - sleeping on a matress on the back on camping trips, throwing our bikes in the cab, having all that space to load in tables and display cabinets for the 5/6 annual markets that she has a...
