The Banting/LCHF Thread

Hit a week of very very slow weight loss (less than 1kg)... so stopped my morning BF coffee and switched over to just black coffee in the morning and still doing OMAD. Hopefully this gets me losing again.
Is that less than 1kg per week? That is still phenomenal. How long have you been losing weight? Where did you start?

Balance me here guys. Take a look at Stellenbrau's range of craft beers. Click the nutritional information for any beer, and the carbs per serving are given as 0.2g or less. How is this possible for an item that is barley, hops, and water? Are they frauds?

These beers aren't advertised as low carb in any way.

Marathon, not a sprint, keep calm and carry on.

Actually they are.

ther great news is that Stellenbrau beers are easy on the waistline. Scientifically verified nutritional analysis reveals the brews to be low in kilojoules and carbs alike, which should encourage those watching their sugar and carbohydrate intake not to ‘fear the beer’. Containing no preservatives and made with pure and natural ingredients, our beer is made to be enjoyed and savoured.

Interesting though, I can only assume they cook off the carbs in the alcohol somehow or use some other type of yeast like agent.

I can't! Hard liquor and keto don't go together for me. Even if I eat a bag of bacon, hydrate, and top up electrolytes, I'll still get knocked out by one shot.

Yah, my alcohol tollerance went Waaaaaaaaay down.

Yep, just make sure you uber or something. I get buzzed after two doubles now or three singles. Used to be able to consume half a bottle or so.

I haven't had a drink yet (been about 3 months) I will probably have my first drink in December when on holiday so im sure I will also be a bit of a light weight by then.

I have read a lot on maltitol and it seems like it does contribute carbs. It is not zero carb. So the consensus is that about half the g of maltitol gets counted as carbs. I bought some of those caring cadies chocolates. They are delicious but they have about 25g of Maltitol in them per 50g bar. So that is about 12.5g of carbs to count. If they can make more of a less digestible sugar it could be better, like a mixture of stevia and erythritol
