feel the same way ... its actually fun eating with this meal plan!
I promised myself i will NOT go on a "diet" if it is not permanent. Now 10 months of Banting and I settled on this new lifestyle, forever hopefully.

i eat fish atleast 3 times a week, tuna mostly fresh and canned but prefer fresh kingclip but tad expensive.
try trout if the salmon is to exp ... exactly the same just farmed in sa
I'll keep an eye out for it!

Stop grilling it and fry it in butter
I know I know, but I bought a new griddle pan 2 weeks or so ago so I've been experimenting using it with everything :D

For the first time, I must say I enjoy being on a diet. Few months ago, I couldn't imagine my dinner plate without rice, potato, pasta, etc. And I hated broccoli as hell!
Hubby says since I started banting, my plates looks so nutritious and exotic and his look boring. :D
Before I start eating low carb, I avoided cauli and broc and abhored spinach. I'd literally gag on it. Now they seem to make up the majority of my veggie intake. I'll always have a [-]soft spot[/-] fond memories in my heart for potato gnocchi though, sigh.

even taking away the fibre, it's 11.2g per 60g, seems way high

Net carbs 2 per serving, it says
Probably not too bad every now and then but I wouldn't have it too often. It will fire up your sweet tooth if you have a sweet tooth.

Yeh, was in dischem to pick up some stuff to add me some fibre. Pills. And saw that. Just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts.

What is Polyols? Good carbs?

Ah, see it's a sugarless sweetener, also doesn't cause insulin response. nice one.

Sugar alcohols. Not glycaemic so they don't count really, but they do have an effect on some people.

So, just a comment on the thread, had some weird pains lately so went to go see a cardiologist to get checked out because of bad family history and weight.

BasicaLly he's suggested I follow a similar diet but not the high fat as he needs me to experiance strong weightloss until I see him again in a year. So basically doing zero cardbs to force my body into a internal fat feeding.

The wife is a great assist but I've waived her off laying off carbs personally as she is still breast feeding our little one. So from what I've read, my current staples are meats/fish, eggs , green veg ( lettuce, spinach etc ) and tomatoes.

Been doing this since thurs night and I can def feel a craving for bread/potatoes/rice etc which was my normal sides. I've seen the whole cauli rice/mash on offer at a few places but haven't tried yet.

How does he suggest you do this? You'll be low carb, low fat, high protein? That's not good for you, and you'll likely be hungry from not eating enough calories every day.

You can experience effective, longterm weighloss by switching to a low-carb, medium-protein, high-fat diet.

Basically I think he just doesn't want me to go overboard with the high fat foods due to my existing. I'll see how it goes and try strike a balance on my own, even if it is just cutting out the major carbs ( pasta , potatoes , bread , rice )

There's no correlation between fat and CHD.

could a suggestion not be that he starts lower with the fat intake and then gradually increase it?

I still hate the taste of chicken skin and fat on steaks/chops, so I have lots of oils. I have to avoid both gluten and dairy due to allergies, and that knocks butter off the list. (unless I am feeling brave that day)
