wow, that's awesome dude. really really well done.

Thank you - I do not seem to be gaining much weight, even if I go astray on some weekends... I guess cutting beer completely helped. Whiskey now does it for me - I miss beer though!

Yes did loose quite a lot in 6 months, I wouldn't mind to lose that much in the same period to be honest. But I'm content at my slow loss at the moment.

Have you added exercise at any point? Or was it only a change in diet?

what made me lose so much is that I gave up a lot (of bad food), rapidly.

TO be honest, I did gym... there was a special at planet fitness, only went for one month. So, only went for December and it did help, especially with the tucking in of stomach

Thats great. I'm also aiming for 90. Down to 102 from 128 in January. So, getting there.

Sigh, I'm a little disheartened now. Let's just say, the scale and I are not friends in general. So I've been doing low carb/banting for about a month now. I feel like I've lost weight, the wife and family say I look like it and my clothes are looser as well and I'm down a belt notch. Sadly the scale doesn't tell me what I wanted but by the same token like I say I've been avoiding it so maybe it's just my mind playing tricks.

If I think about it based on a previous assumption, I'm down about 4-8kgs. Am I expecting too much? Not going to change anything at the mo, just obviously now try keep a week weight diary but feels disheartening.

/goes off to nom salad, boiled egg and tuna for lunch.

I think you are expecting too much too soon. When I first started, known carbs were avoided, completely. They were not low, they were nonexistent in my diet.

I've been going for 3 months now. To the day. And have lost about 14 and a bit. Sounds like a lot, but the most was in the first month. April have been very slow. But some progress seen recently without changing anything. Just keep going. Remember, this is a lifestyle now, not a diet. Don't focus too much on it. Try more to make it part of your life, as its a given. The weightloss will come. And if it doesn't in another 2 months, then we can have a look at your food in take.

So maybe keep a diary, and be honest when putting stuff in it.

Thanks chaps, I did keep a food diary for a while but I tended to wind up the same every day, between 1200-1600 calories etc and a carb intake between 25-50. The wife and I are playing with recipes and she's fully behind me and prepares my food. I think the weight diary will help more that I'm actually stepping on a scale again.

My wife & I started this banting way of life just over a week ago. We need tons of advice and recipes. Our main issue is with bread. I am looking for some easy recipes. We've cut out sugar, potatoes, rice, cereals & bread.

I am down 1.5kg after a week but the SO is still the same weight. I do have a bit more energy than 2 weeks ago.

I'll slowly start reading this thread from page 1.

dafuq. 128 in this january? you lost 26kg in 4 months?

Ja, I guess most is water or something. Was quick in the beginning, now it's very slow, like a kilo a week or something.
Before I started my feet was swollen a lot. You know when you wear socks and they leave impressions in your legs, like very bad. That went away within a week after I started banting.
That apparently points to water retention, according to my friends.
Also, I exercise...walking and the odd squash game.
