The Banting/LCHF Thread

Only having once or twice a week to break the cycle and very small, like maybe half a palm if I want to make a pasta salad or have it as a side and a palm when it's a 'main' meal.

Saw and had to grab a box ....... have made 3 pasta dishes now and reckon still got 2 serves left from the box so pretty worth it.

On the same shelf as the regular pasta?

I couldn't remember if you paid me but I reckon not, probably it was with all the other 'health/diet/whatever' type stuff

how much was it btw, cause if your getting like 4 or 5 servings out of it should be a good purchase.

What cool drink do you guys include in your diet?
Is Aloe water ok? The 1 they sell at Checkers and Spar.

Tab, Coke Zero, Drink o Pop.

If sweet stuff triggers cravings, rather avoid. I don't have that problem at all so enjoy above mentioned drinks in abundance.

Saw that, thanks, but i think i'll leave the asian to the asians
and that's not banting friendly in any case
Leave the noodles out of you make it in future but you should still use the flavour packet in the sauce.

With Banting philosophy it is best to avoid processed foods.
If it doesn't look like a strawberry but a powdered version then it's not a strawberry.

Also it's not good to use too many sugar free sweetened products as it confuses the brain and make you crave more sweet things.

Hi tRoN

It makes sense about avoiding processed foods, which is why Footy's only use natural ingredients in their cool drink for flavours and colourants.

Also, the sweeteners used in Footy's products are similar to Xylitol, yet withouth causing the laxative effect. The scientific evidence is readily available that proves that these polyol sweeteners are different to the artificial sweeteners in terms of the reactions in your brain i.e. it does not cause those cravings.

Consider using powder cool drink from www.footys.co.za they have great recipe ideas on their Facebook page too as it is quite versatile: make your own ice cream, with full cream yoghurt, cool drink mix, frozen lollies/ ice slushies and many other ideas.
