The Bridgestone's have min stars No wonder they are a bit tired. (No pun intended)

Edit: Not fussed with run flats. A normal set should be fine. I have a tyre repair kit I carry with me in case something goes pear shaped.

If going Michelin, then can just go all and pay for the pilot sport 4, pretty much as good as it gets.

My work environment , I get punctures weekly :( , don’t want to wait for insurance every time to send a truck


Bmw on call done that the one year when I had my 5 series , we got a puncture about 2 hours out of middleburg , and I wasn’t going to wreck the tire , and the “mobility kit” gooo went into the tire and out the hole

I asked them if they could send road side assist with a puncture plug kit, instead they opted to take the car back to witbank bmw , where my father in law, met me with a plug kit,

So the roll back drive 4 hours to pick up a car with a flat tire

The other issue brewing for me with the runflats, is hypothetically , let’s say you get a puncture in the middle
Of nowhere and drive to the nearest town( ie pogfadder?) , by when your run flat is now rubber shards , who’s to say the local has another run flat, even in major towns , it’s a 2 day wait for tires


Wouldn’t mind one of those fold out spare wheels ,

Just checked the price. Yeah, uhm, no, not now. Pirelli's seem to be the most cost effective option, unless there's something else I'm not aware of.

Ouch. Now I'm in 2 minds to get run flats or not.

Of all the run flat tires i've had , the bridgestone alenza are absolute ****. the new ones on the car , after 1 puncture , and not even flat driving, had these "tears" on the inside, looked like someone sliced them with a knife, also the hardest drive with high road noise

So, what non-run flat tyres would you recommend considering I have a repair backpack in the car. (It's got a pump in too).

I agree on the Contis, I have been using them since 2016 (changed to them again about 4 years back) and they are a bit noisy. I initially changed to Continental from BMW's favorite, Bridgestone. I hated those things.

I will move to Pirellis to test and see how they fare.
 
I have the Bridgestone S001 Potenza RFT on my car, thought they were great and I got 55,000km out of the set.

This is the set I have on the rear wheels. Considering that I'm not used to the torque yet, they'll probably last for a week then I'll have to get new ones
