The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

One more question, today I weighed myself and I see that I'm back at my current weight even though yesterday it had showed I lost a kg.

I've been working hard at it so this can't be right. I'm assuming the digital scale could have its issues, like maybe it's not the true reflection.

Even if your scale isn't extremly accurate its fine when it comes to tracking your weight! as long as it's consistent though! meaning it gives the same reading for a specific item that weighs the same every time you weight it! Try weighing something you have lying around that's heavy enough and see if it gives you the same reading every time you weigh it...perhaps a weight plate! if it does then you know it's consistent and you can use it to tell if you gaining or loseing weight. If it's not giving the same reading with the same item every other time then obviously it's the scale that's messed up.

That being said I doubt it's the scale.

A few different things could contribute to this. It could be you just need to go out as in make number one or two! it could also be water weight, clothing etc.
Always weigh yourself around the same time every day typically the best time would be when you get up and before consuming anything including water...try weighing yourself after going to the toilet for both no1 & 2 if possible. It might sound silly but remember it all carries weight! Clothing aswel...so weigh yourself nude.

Nways any of these things could be the reason for the weight difference between the two days.

I started cutting last week and my deficit is around 1800 calories.

I've lost a kg when I weighed myself this morning so my cardio, nutrition etc is working for me however today I might have went over my deficit because it's a Saturday. Will this affect my deficit/weight loss?...

Also is it okay to make Saturday a cheat day every week? I just feel I can be super strict on weekdays but on Saturday it's alil tough lol.

I agree with what Dillon said above.

I read a study somewhere where there were 2 groups, one ate in a deficit 7 days a week for a few months and one that ate in a deficit for 5 days of the week, eating to maintenance on the other 2. Apparently the results were that the group eating to maintenance ended up losing more weight. I assume this is because it prevents your body adapting to the fewer calories?

I have successfully used this method along with intermittent fasting and had great results.

Also with regards to the weight difference the best solution to that I have found is to weigh myself each day and then average the weight out for the week, I then compare the weekly averages to check progress.

Anyone know where I can get 45cm dumbbell handles. The usual dumbbells stores like Makro sell are 35-38cm.
I need 45cm to add more weights to it....any help would be appreciated.

Lower the bar onto your nipples. Perhaps you're keeping the bar too close to your head.

This seems to have helped. I dropped the weight a bit and went for more control pressing from the nipple area. Definitely feel it more in the chest.

Ugh... trying to get back to gym and picked up a cold this week... can’t say which I dread more - probably getting back into cardio

that sucks.... the double whammy of feeling crappy from illness and not being able to gym.

Good luck with the recovery

Do you guys just throw away your empty protein containers or reuse it for something?

Currently I have four empty ones, I hate to just get rid of it but then again I can't think of what to do with and I don't have much space to keep collecting them.

I keep my stash of greenery in an empty creatine container

If you have a garage, use them to store stuff. Keeps it out of site. They are an awkward size though.
Thinking of using one as a storage but not sure what to actually keep in. Don't have a garage

Anybody ever used Clenbutrol (or clen for those in the know)? It seems to be a (relatively speaking) safe steriod.

Its not technically a steroid, but is fairly popular nevertheless
My friends have had relatively average results from it and admitted they would probably get very similar results with clean eating
If you are cutting and you arent already in a decent shape, my opinion is that its not worth taking. If you are already lean and want to shred the last % or or two, then you would get what you want out of it

There is no easy route to looking good unfortunately

What shoes do you guys use for squats..deadlifts etc?

I use these for deadlifts and squats, they are really nice. The low slope from front to back and the hard sole part make it stable for these two movements. Also just walking in them is comfortable, although slightly flat footed due to the emphasis on stability. I have a different pair for running or work with any impact on my knees as the foam is too hard in the below shoe for regular running.

My b/f was at 12.8% in the last week of Nov, I am sure if has gone up to like 14% now *sigh darn Christmas holidays*

I would like to go down to about 10%, I was stuck between 11-13% for pretty much 2yrs, thus me looking for some help from clen or something similar. I don't want to go high dosages, my dieet will probably help with a 2% drop and then I want something to help with the other 2%.

Clen is definitely not a safe substance and should be treated with caution.

Why not try some real yohimbine hcl stacked with a ECA?

Clen is for real stubborn fat and is usually used by people competing.

Yeah you can buy a decent ECA stack from some supplement stores and that should be a slightly better option than clen.
Unless you dont mind the symptoms from clen, in which case as long as diet and training are dialed in it could be an option.

I have a question for the buff guys here.
Where do you guys buy pants ( jeans, chinos etc)?

Most shops seems to hate people with legs.
My waist is 36" but my legs cant even fit in most pants that are 38" and my legs aren't even that big ( i think)
So im stuck getting 38"+ pants that look really crap and have no freedom of movement

Well Intermittent fasting actually works.

I bulked up really bad my first time and went to 70kgs...but put on more fat than I should.

Then did a deficit for months and only lost 2kgs which was ****.

Then i did Intermittent fasting and went down quick.

Going to bulk soon (properly this time) but the face fat isn't leaving
