The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Ordered Nutritech Whey (R699) and Casein (R349) from Takealot. Should get here on Tuesday.

Does anyone here use both whey and casein powder?

I am as well, first time added casine this month. Evening casine only on training days. Definately less sore overall, tastes epic (Double chocolate mousse) and helps with planning cals.

But that cost though.... Still deciding if im gonna stick with it

Who uses cottage cheese instead of casine? And how do you have it? I dont fancy trying to pound plain cottage cheese before bed....

I have cottage cheese on Ryevita cracker bread. I also have a mass builder, so I get a combination of whey and casein. I don't have a full tub of cheese though, probably 1/3.

Do any of you guys use creatine? Is it worth the trouble?

Yes and no. A certain part of the population are non responders (It just does nothing for them). I think I am one of these people as I was using it for a few months, stopped using it an nothing changed. But try it out, it's cheap.

I'm the same - started using it, saw no difference - stop using it and also saw no difference.

I am using it. I did see a difference after 2 weeks or so. I think it has a lot to do with your diet. My red meat intake is a bit low so i may not be getting enough creatine naturally.

Either way give it a go. Its cheap lasts ages and no down side really.

Remind me please, if not taking in enough water is Creatine dangerous?

Report back on day 2 of eating Nuway, the choc one is pleasant tasting and quite creamy with Milk Alternative soy milk. Nice texture as the oats are not ground too fine. Very filling... any more than half a cup of the stuff and I feel overly stuffed. I only weigh 62kg though.

I must still try the granola version.

Last i read, it does add a bit of strain to body but for a healthy individual no real danger. Water just helps promote efficient processing. The cases where it was dangerous was where people had underlying kidney (and liver?) issues.

All that said, im trying to keep water intake up.

How much you guys putting down a day? Constantly needing to piss is getting on my nerves.....

I visit the loo often enough without taking creatine ... downing copious amounts of water for creatine is a major pain :/

With or without creatine I still drink the same amount. No side effects and I definitely notice an increase in strength and size when I use creatine. Have cycled off it quite a few times and the difference is very noticeable in my case.

Drink between 2 and 3lt of water a day. About 3 - 4 x Bonaqua Pump bottles. That does not include the 2 or 3 cups of coffee.

In winter months the loo breaks can become a bit irritating but it is better in the summer months.
