The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

I personally wouldn't bother with a multi vitamin if you have a decent diet. If you have a really terrible diet, then maybe, but ideally you would fix your diet first.

What you should think about supplementing with is Vitamin D, fish oil, Zinc and Magnesium. Calcium you might need if you are not taking whey or casein powder. You won't need Vitamin D if you spend 15-20 minutes in the sun every day. But you need to have 25% of your skin exposed, so driving to work and back doesn't count unless you drive in a convertible with a vest on.

Make sure the fish oil has the highest percentage of EPA and DHA that you can find, and you'll need to take 3-4 capsules per day. Aim for at least a gram of EPA and DHA.

Seem to be having GI problems since I started Nutritech creatine mono, not even loading just 5g a day. Anyone else experience this?

Nope, and Nutritech Creatine is the only one I have ever used. As well as their Glutamine.

If you just starting out its normal in some people. I did have some discomfort. Taking it with food in the beginninh is a good idea. After a month or so it shouldnt be a problem.

I started taking their whey protein, casein protein and creatine monohydrate last week. The only GI issues I've had are a bit of flatulence and, um, lack of regularity. I've increased my water, fiber and magnesium intake, seems to have helped a bit.

Lowered the dosage and dissolved the creatine in hot water but still feeling horribly bloated and gassy :(

Don't know what the problem is, my diet hasn't changed at all since I started the creatine

I found the Nutritech Chocolate Whey did that to me...

The Supplements SA and Evox whey gave me explosive diarrhea like clockwork, have only used egg protein shakes since then.

With this heatwave currently in Gauteng it is getting increasingly difficult to keep up intensity during workouts.

Last night I struggled greatly to keep within the 60s rest between sets.

Going to try and work out only after 20h00 tonight when it is slightly cooler.

Which brands of Egg protein do you use?

Come the CT, the weather is fine ;)

Used Supplement Factory previously, great value but it foams a lot and had to mix it with juice because it was unflavoured. Using Evox now and very happy with it.

Also the GI problems with the Nutritech creatine have subsided after reducing the dosage. Not sure if that was the problem but it feels good to have firm poo again :o

When will the day come when we have some regulation in the local supplement industry? Reading comments on digestion issues and mixability on local supplements and those are all the signs of dodgy product.

Nutritech is dodgy?

Depends on what you're looking for...

Decent price and the macro's you need. Then its good.

Sure it froths a bit sometimes. And the are GI issues sometime.... But i'm willing to put up with that for the good price and gains.

Long story short. Find what works for you and your budget and stick with it.

Dont forget that dem gainz is the ultimate goal..... ;-)
