any items that would have worked out cheaper? i had a quick look and it seems the 2.5kg whey bags would still be cheaper under last weeks 30% off.

I never checked

divide your workout into a Push/Pull/Lower/Core, start with 6 basic exercises and rest 1 and 2 min between each set. 2 sets of 10 isn't gonna get you anywhere cut those reps in half and do sets of 6,6,5,5,4 for more volume expect reps to drop off towards the end. Im not sure what your actual strength levels are, here's a list of exercises to help you build a routine pick 2 from each group and follow the rep scheme and see how you get on

push
pushups
diamond pushups
decline pushups
archer pushups
dips

pull
rows
inverted rows
pull ups

core
leg/knee raises
plank
windshield wipers
L-sit
dragon flag

lower
lunges
reverse lunges
shrimp squat
pistol squats (goat bodyweight leg exercise)

exercises are grouped from easy to kuk hard

Awesome!

Thanks for the advise. I will keep this on my wall as a routine.

Thought this the best place to ask.
I want to buy a few weights for training at home, nothing too serious, a couple of dumbbells or kettlebells to start out with, plan is to buy more as the need arises in future.
So, where in SA will I get the best prices, preferably online? I know nothing of these things, are there certain brands to look out for, certain brands to avoid? It will only be for casual use at home, so obviously I don't need the most expensive high quality stuff, but at least want something decent.

Most of my weights are Trojan branded. From Makro or Game. Found them to be the cheapest and sometimes you can pick up some nice specials from them.

But overall weights are pretty damn expensive. Keep your eyes on classifieds sites in the next month or two and get them second hand at fraction of the new price. That is how I started too.

How big and fit are you bigboy529, excuse the pun :p

If it is a 20kg kettlebell you want, Dischem was selling one for about R350 which is much cheaper than elsewhere.

That's a good price... I might go look myself...

Opened my first bag of MP Impact Whey today. I was surprised to see that it's a weird kind of damp-looking whey that looks like kinetic sand. It kinda sticks together, and doesn't look like "powder".
Got a question though regarding the scoop size. The scoop is way bigger than any other I've seen, and the markings inside seems to say that a full scoop is a little more than 70g? Yet the serving size refers to a 25g serving containing 18g of protein. I used my Nutritech scoop (32g) and found the flavour to be a very watered down kind of taste.
So what's up with the scoop, and what quantity are you guys using?

Im using 1 scoop with about 300ml of water. I have the choc mint flavour and it is seriously the best tasting whey I have ever tasted.

Just read now that the scoop is 70cc which is 25g of protein.

But the same 70cc will for instance not give you 25g of creatine if you understand what I mean.

If someone has an accurate digital kitchen scale, then please weigh 1 scoop of the MP whey.
The bag says one 25g serving has 18g of protein. If the scoop is 70cc, then it is most likely way for than 25g, depending on it's density.

Here you go.

Green scoop is old Nutritech scoop. Blue is MP scoop.

And yes I did zero out the scale to account for the weight of the scoop itself. So the weight on scale is purely powder. Strawberry cream flavour.
