So - no gym in almost a month. And I'm loosing weight faster.... probably muscle now :(

So what would you guys say is the best bang for your buck when it comes to whey protein atm? Haven't used supplements in a while, trying to fill all the gaps with whole foods, but I find it hard to hit my proteins on some days, especially on the weekends

I'm burning to start exercising again but still have a few days left before wife will give me the all clear. And I know not to test her boundaries ;)

Feel 100% again but she is holding me to the doc's orders of 2 weeks of no exercise at all.

Don't rush it - you can always gain the muscle back when you are ready. Don't forget about what happened. For humans gratitude is the shortest lived emotion. Your life is way more important than gym and all that goes with it.

Sharp! :)

Hey all

Thought I'd share some progress. I've been training for 3 months now and measured for the first time last month on the 25th and again this month on the 25th:

I've gained:
1cm round my neck
3cm around my chest
1cm on my biceps both relaxed and flexed
nothing on my forearms
Stomach is the same
2cm around my thighs
Nothing on my calves - which was disappointing seeing as that is the muscle I've been training the most.

Going to change my excercises a bit now for the next 3 months. Any advice on some good calve routines? At the moment I train them as follows:

Standing calve raises 12 to 14 reps then I run a 1 story stair case with two 15GK wieghts twice x 4 sets. Then I do seated calve raises 4 sets of 12 to 14 reps. I do this on Monday's and Fridays - I train 3 days a week.

I am using Biogen Bulk 45 150 twice a day 2 hours after bfast and 2 hours after lunch and then on training days Biogen SR8 right after training and on non training days before bed. I also take Biogen Multivitamin Plus.

He has the biggest calves in bodybuilding so he should know what he's talking about.

Thanks man - really appreciate it!

I tell you - been training in the gym for 3 months now - and Monday past I went to play touch rugby after gym...first time in 3 months my calves were sore...and overall I could hardly walk by Wednesday. And even though today is legs...I don't think my upper legs have recovered yet. Think today will be calves and core!

I would not train legs at gym and then go and play something like touch rugby. If you fatigued your leg muscles at gym (assuming you did), it will wreak havoc on your knees in the activity after that. IMHO.

Don't train legs on Mondays :) I train legs on Fridays. Mondays I do chest and triceps and then to play touch rugby. I only cycle for 12 mins on Mondays (and Wed and Fri for warm up) so sure that will be OK.

I am the same, I do legs on Thursdays, because I play LMS (T20) cricket on weekends.
Provided I don't go out cheaply - the sprints wreak havoc on my legs and groin, and my arms and shoulders burn.

But wait...I see what you mean though - cause I train calves on Mondays as well...Fridays I do full legs incl calves. So maybe then I should move calves to Wednesdays and Friday's and move core to Monday's - I do core once a week.

Yeah, i just mean you don't want to fatigue supporting muscles that are required for an activity that is say high impact on your knees. Else the knees will take strain and before you know it u have worn away cartilage that will never grow back.

It's all relative to your fitness level though (muscle wise I mean), so if you are super conditioned then it may not be an issue.

I started again today. Feels great to be back in training.

But damn 2 weeks off really takes its toll, hey? Not sure if it was just laziness, stiffness or perhaps caution from my side after what happened, but I rested way too long (2 to 3min) between sets and muscles started cooling down a bit.

Anyway. Feels good to get the heart rate up and sweat dripping again.

Hi guys,

Just want some advise before i buy, has anyone bought from Optimum Nutrition SA's website?

I tried doing the whois without success and their terms and conditions don't load on my browser. Has anyone bought from them?

I know, Im rather paranoid when I buy something online from a new place but in this day and age I think its a must.

Thanks!
