While you brought up DJ... again.

I used to be a rather enthusiastic wannabe chef before I embarked on this whole lifestyle change.

I tried a new recipe, technique, dish, etc every week and I was one of the more active guys in the "What's for supper" thread and Food Cooking sub-forum.

That has changed quite dramatically now and I barely take a glance over there now. Only so many ways to cook vegetables/eggs/chicken without cheating on your diet.

It does kinda get boring but to me it is totally worth it so far. I am down 25kg in total and healthier than ever. I look and feel great.

What diet are you on?

What diet are you on?

No refined carbs, no sugar.
Edit : also no potatoes.

We basically do meat and veg every night. Breakfast is boiled eggs and left over meat from last night.

Lunch is always salad with tuna or chicken.

Not LCHF really but almost the same.

I'm on a LCHF/keto diet. Eating is fun this way :) I do a lot of varying dishes that fall into my diet. Even curries with sides like caulirice.

If it were boring I don't think I'd be able to keep it up for this long. Currently on 15kgs down.

Boring is perhaps the wrong word.

I also do the curries with caulimash and bolognaise with zucchini "spaghetti"... But before the change in diet there were so many more options.

I'm not regretting it at all. I just miss a good pasta or burger at times.

But until I have reached my goals and the look I'm after I will not deviate from my current diet/plan.

It's expensive as schit to eat this way though.

Haven't tried the zucchini spaghetti yet, any good? I miss beer and bunnies the most.

Definitely. I look for deals when I can. Cutting out most of the alcohol and eating out has helped though, even though I wasn't a partier by any means.

It is great.

I cut them with a mandolin (not the musical type :D) and literally just zap them for 1 min in boiling water. Any more and they become too soggy and absorb water which doesn't go nicely with the mince.

Hi all,

New to this thread. Does anyone know of any powerlifting friendly gyms in JHB?

Currently work out at home but looking for a spot with people with same goals etc.

Cheers

I have basically done the same.

I haven't bought a loaf of bread or a packet of pasta since March.

Friend of mine is starting to train there from next year. Not sure if the gym is exclusively for students since it's located at the Wits education campus.

Same here, I stay away from any processed foods these days.

Meat and plenty veg, basmati rice, salads.

So... Coming back from a two month hiatus due to lots of work and laziness on my part and daym I've lost a lot of strength. I've been back from the gym for 30 minutes and I can already feel the DOMS [not so delayed hey :p ]

Slow and steady wins the race :)
