A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Consistency in this game is key.

But yes...damn expensive. Bulk buying is a definite plus. Stocking up on about 72kg of chicken fillets on Monday again. Just too damn expensive to buy week to week these days :(

Where do you buy 72kg  of chicken fillets at a good price?

This is actually my first post in these forums and I hope to be a regular contributor. I'm coming up to my first anniversary of training on 1'st December and I'm so chuffed with the results. I've put in in countless hours of research into training and nutrition, the bodybuilding.com website with it's forums has been invaluable to me.

One thing I feel so bad about is when I see people, especially women getting duped into all these crazy diet supplements and fads. Being healthy and looking good is as easy as eating clean, training hard and staying focused.

Welcome Bulldog :) First and foremost I'd say the general populace is duped by the food manufacturers due to all the junk that is by default in our processed foods! Everyone would be a lot slimmer if it wasn't for all that rubbish we are consuming.

Thanks Strontium, I agree, far too much junk in our processed foods. I try to make a point of buying foods that are are not over processed i.e. Brown rice, durum wheat pasta, no tinned foods, fresh veg & meat, seeded breads, etc. I think once we get into the habit of checking labels in the stores before we buy anything it becomes a little easier to sort the good from the bad.

I know we're all going to die one day and I don't want to over analyze things but the way I see eating healthy is like taking out insurance on yourself, maybe you get hit by a bus tomorrow, maybe you live to 100, who knows?

72KG?? :wtf:

Pics please :p

Where do you buy from ?
I buy at R39.99 per kg fresh from a butcher when he gets stock. Otherwise I buy frozen at R36 per kg BUT it's brined 26% :-\ from Country Fair.

But I figure even if a quarter is brined weight, it keeps the meat juicy and still a HELL of a lot cheaper than the R55.99 per kg for fresh in stores these days.

Will post pics on Monday after my haul hehe. About 3 months worth of chicken that.

If anyone else have a source for chicken in CT do post :)

Anybody here currently on a Cyclic Ketogenic Diet?

So 6 days LCHF and then 1 day HCLF?

What is your experience with this and what would you typically eat on the high Carb day?

So I have been thinking I have heart issues since July this year, been to Doctor who took blood and did numerous tests, all came back that nothing was wrong.

I still get the pain every so often, feels like someone poking a finger near my ribs, doesn't always appear.
If I lie down on my left side I can feel some discomfort.

Noticed that the pain has moved from the front where heart might be around to the side of my ribs just under the armpit.

I'm wondering if I haven't pulled an intercostal muscle, when I touch a certain area it feels tender, between ribs just under my left armpit.
I have been doing heavy deadlifts since July and also increased my exercise routine to get "fitter" thinking that would fix everything.

A pic as promised. Butcher did not have fresh cuts...so had to go Country Fair. Oh well. Have to stretch those pennies as far as they can go!

6 x 12kg bags.

I buy direct from Country Fair in Epping industrial CT.

The above worked out to R35.90 per kg. Do keep in mind that they are unfortunately brined 26%. 99% of which is water with 1% salt as is standard brine chicken mix. A pity that.

However all things considered still as good a deal as I can get currently.

hmm well no it's not as good a deal as you can get considering even just my post? you can buy a whole bird for R27/kg at pnp. R9/kg less than you paid. 9x72 = a lot of pennies that didn't get stretched
even woolworths pieces works out to the same as what you paid but it's probably better quality and not brined

why do you buy so much at one time anyway? big family? lots of poultry parties? if that's just for you how long does it last?

sorry I'm still kinda reeling from that much chicken. it's the weight of a normal person. in CHICKEN. lol
