If you guys are interested there is a nice post/thread about the 5x5 you can check out on muscletalk under exercises.

Well basically comes down to the 5x5 and then following with the 5x5 but doing rest pause incorporating 90% of your one max rep.

Decided to give Google a go, and found http://stronglifts.com/5x5/ - it REALLY breaks everything down, and explains everything perfectly, which is great for a noob like me. I even downloaded the app, which is pretty awesome tbh. Can't wait to get started! :D

Yeah, it's really good. AS a beginner definitely listen to what he says and trust in the process. I keep wanting to add my own changes to the programme but do need to get back to basics before doing so.

Thanks, i found it. http://www.muscletalk.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=234&p=396&hilit=5x5#p396

Do you reckon start with 10x10? 10 sets sounds too hectic. Maybe 5 sets 10 reps I can do for the first month as I get back into the 5x5 program?

That's the one, well 10x10 it's hectic trust me and it focuses on your fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fibers. Endurance basically and you literary alter your muscle anatomy.

You need proper nutrition thou otherwise your body will not be able to recover and keep up.

If you want to go 10x5 first you can it will be a good introduction in preparation for the more heavy 5 reps to come.

Bahahaha, been there. When I used Yohimbe... Omg the opposite happens. Walking in the mall then all a sudden....

Back to square one. Last i checked my scale says my body fat is at 19%. Yet everyone thinks I look so lean (in a t-shirt). I think the majority of fat is around my abs, though I don't have a boep.

But i also need to add muscle mass. So I suppose I should just eat at a slight caloric deficit and keep hitting the gym regularly and after some body recomp, things will look better in a few weeks?

AFAIK, all carbs turn into sugar. Must be the low gl carbs that he is referring to

Clean carb non processed carbs.

Ie Sweet potato, brown rice (white rice if you train efficient utilizing the fast release), all forms of veggies, oats ( the real stuff not quick cook)

Keep your protein up ie 1.1-1.5g per Kg of body weight.

Carbs 1g per Kg of bodyweight.

Fats 0.3 - 0.5g per Kg bodyweight.

Fat is essential for brain function and memory.

Healthy fats... Ie Fish oil, coconut oil, CLA's

Obviously this is dependent on your body ie bloodgroup, training etc

My body specifically responds out of perportion to carbs so I don't like eating more than what is absolutely required.

However you might get away bumping the carbs to 2g per Kg of bodyweight for example

What shoes do you wear to the gym.

I wear Asics Nimbus 14 running shoes and they are fine for the part but when I use the standing calf raising machine it feels like I am squashing the front gel cushioning of the shoe.
