Is there anyone here that eats their oats raw?
I quite enjoy raw oats, and I'm guessing the nutritional value doesn't change by not cooking them, so I'm gonna save some time in the morning and just eat it raw.
Could also let them soak overnight in water / milk / whatever and they'll be nice and soft(er) in the morning if you want to stir some stuff into it.

That's a whole lot of protein! Just wondering why so much? Don't know your current/target weight or anything so just asking

and the things about soy lowering testosterone that started with a study in 2000 was essentially disproven just 1 year later when the results couldn't be replicated. Other studies, two as recent as 2010 found no significant effect on testosterone. Soy consumption seems to even lower prostate cancer risk

Well at the moment I am 122Kg and bodyfat is 16% give or take a % since the lady that normally does the measurements was not available the last time.

Goal is to be back to normal weight by April which is 98 - 103Kg bodyfat 8 - 9%

That is why I need a lot of protein, I work on the normal 1.5g of protein per pound of body weight. ( Give or take, i tend to listen to my body and then adjust accordingly)

I also eat them raw :)

Why will you require so much protein? Are you converting into a wildebeest as part of your veganism?

Hahaha :p

To be honest, if you want to build muscle, you really should set your diet to accommodate that. I am not trying to tell you what you should do, but there is the easy way to do something, and then there is all the more difficult and most difficult ways to do it.

Sure there are some vegan doing it, or someone doing it intermittent fasting, or whatever new FAD. Just because they can do it, doesn't mean you can do it. Building muscle is already a tough en devour, and all you are doing now, is making it exponentially more difficult.

You should decide what your priorities are, and follow that.

/rant

Best of luck on your vegan muscle building journey, I know it won't be easy, and you will need all the support you can get.

That's what I was afraid of. I fear this changed might impact me in a bad way. Not that bodybuilding is a priority, but I surely enjoy it and it won't be mentality satisfying knowing I am not performing optimal due to diet restrictions.

Urgh such a las.

My ultimate goal: I'm aiming for that Bill Pearl look.

He does yes, but he is physically smaller than I am as in frame wise I have really wide shoulders it would look weird if I dropped to his weight with my body.

Well I wouldn't expect a 6 foot something guy to drop to the weight of a sub six footer, so I meant in a proportional sense and more from a body fat % perspective :)

edit:
Frank Medrano is 5’9″ – 175 cm and weighs about 160 lbs – 73 kg . According to our guide for natural bodybuilders which has been proven right many times, this is the about the maximum weight a 5’9″ male at 5% BF can have. In other words – the body of Frank Medrano is within the limits, and if you have favorable genetics you can build his mass naturally.

Looking for a decent caffeine-free preworkout

I know just the thing for you - I went through this for a long time, trying to find one - here you go:
http://www.nutritech.co.za/vaso-no3/

vaso.jpg

It works - if I have any advice though, make sure it's stored in a moisture free environment and don't keep it too long after opening, it gets stodgy (I think they use cornstarch as an ingredient). The NO pump is good and without caffeine. You may need to contact them to find your local stockist but they have good products produced locally.

+1 for the Vaso.

Great pump and vascularity.

I've switched back to pre-workout with stimulants as I need that extra little boost and motivation to get started after 11 hours at the office.

Forgive my ignorance, but does pre workout actually work? And how? Does it give you a "OMFG NOS JUST KICKED IN!" kind of boost, or just sustained energy through your workout? How does it compare to creatine with regards to a more natural increase in energy levels?

I also use Vaso-NO3 now, but used the stimulant one before.
I am considering moving back to Nutritech Dynamite. I train at 8pm, so also need that extra bit of a boost. I did find it difficult to fall asleep some nights.

Just bare in mind some of those stores offer free shipping (Chromeshop), whereas pkperformance charges extra for shipping, making them more expensive.
