The other day I saw a guy doing deadlifts... With a huge wide stance. Like 1.5 times his shoulder width. I assume you going to work more on the quads that way (and stand a chance to hurt you back)?

P.S. This thread needs to be stickied :p

So in my hunt for a meal replacement supplement I bought the following (mainly because Evox Nuplex had a manufacturing problem and serious stock shortage - couldn't find it anywhere).

http://www.evox.co.za/All-Products/Weightloss/LEAN-PRO.aspx

Any advice on usage? I've never taken a supplement before, want to use it drop some kg's and then once i'm an ideal weight to start gyming more etc with some sort of muscle building supplement.

Any ideas?

Thanks
J

No carbs so do not have it for breakfast. I dunno man i am not sure you can use that as a meal replacement, what is your energy source going to be?

That does not seem like a meal replacement to me. Binge you will if you use nothing but that during the day.

It's called SUMO deadlifts. Powerlifters use it quite often. Google it. (But yes it can be dangerous, and no it's actually very heavy on your back, less on your quads.)

Okay, so the orthopedist gave it's verdict:

No apparent major issues (which is good, because there's no need for an operation now).
The flip side is that I won myself a 8 week rehab with the biokineticists. Which is frustrating as hell seeing that I'm not going to bench or do stuff like that for 8 freakkin weeks :(

But I guess I should be glad that it ain't worse.

8 weeks is fast man, imagine lifting without pain or problems in 2 or 3 months.

Think about the end goal not the problem you are faced with. Anyways hope this inspires you :p

I was wondering if yogurt contains bad carbs or good carbs? I have checked and it seems woolies yogurt could be good carbs but i am getting conflicting reports on google.

I am in the process of building muscle and it is going well but the diet is boring me and i thought yogurt could make it a little better. Can only drink so many shakes, oats and woolies seed bread.

Mmm... well... most shakes I've seen have yogurt in them as part of all the other carbs included in these shakes. So don't think it's a too "bad" carb.
I have a shake that works really nice for me: 300ml milk, +/- 50ml vanilla yogurt, +/- 100g oats (raw), 1 banana, 2 heaped teaspoons beanutbutter, + your whey protein. (can also add some nuts if you want) Mix it in the blender ---> Tastes really good and it has a very good balance of carbs and protein. About 50 - 60 g of carbs and 40-ish gram of protein.. (well, that's what the recipe said) ;)

I have a quick question. Im a hardgainer and ive actually managed to gain... 1 kg - lol but its something
My question, as a hardgainer, do I have to worry about loosing some of the muscle/weight ive gained if i cut back on my eating plan?
Or will i need to continue eating the amount I currently am for the rest of my life?

Your muscle should be maintained by whatever excercise you do. Your weight may vary though.

Lol.... I'd just add that you need to remember that doing it naturally will also normally mean at a reduced rate. You could possibly do a 10 min ab routine. Not every day though and rotate the excercises you do. Try and combine at least upper and lower ab's, throwing in obliques if you can.
One other thing, while cutting carbs ("bad" carbs) will assist in weight loss, it is also your body's source of energy.

Bud are you aiming to enter a competition? If not, I wouldn't focus too much on weight, unless you have reason to?

Alpha there is no magic way to lose belly fat, you cannot target fats area's. You will lose weight around your belly when your body starts to use the fat.

Eating way less is not the answer to losing belly fat either, obviously if you ate crap all day then yes but you need to eat 6 meals a day and only eat good carbs. Also what i noticed if you do too much cardio you will start losing muscle mass big time. Cutting out carbs is not the answer, that is your energy source and for some reason people think o let me cut out my energy source and i will lose belly fat. If anything cutting out carbs could make your body store more fat around your belly.

From my experience eat well and gym well and you will lose belly fat. Took me close on 2 years to lose my belly fat.

Cutting carbs from your diet is not eating well!!!

I wouldn't train obliques if youre going for the aesthetically pleasing look. Training obliques makes your hips wider so your not going to get that v shape unless you have really broad shoulders.

I personally don't train abs. Squatting and deadlifting seems to do the trick.

Need some help i am finish my mega grow bucket next week and there is another product called muscle meal which looks just as good if not better.

Should i switch? Mega grow has served me well and it is very good but the reviews for muscle meal have been good.

Perhaps there is a better product out there? Maybe some kinda natural shake you guys use. Banana peanut butter and oat mix or something :D.

Yesterday I bought the 10kg tub Evox Mega grow. Im on a heavy bulk at the moment so need the extra calories. Not sure but I think the difference between the Mega Grow and the Muscle Meal is U get more protein/calories per gram. Oh and the double chocolate tastes very good, almost as good as ON 100% Whey Cookies and Cream flavour :D
