2014: Year of the 6 pack. Heeeere we go....

I split my cardio 20 20 20. It gives me time to recover by doing weights in between. 60 min straight is too boring.

Nice. Keep it up and get a before pic so you can compare how good you look compared to it in a few months.

The other day when the gym was almost empty, I quickly tried a couple bench presses.

Let me just say, I'm glad the gym was empty.

It's going to take a couple of months of pushups at home before I will tackle that at the gym again.

When I did bench press for the first couple of weeks I did it without any weights.

that's a good tip. and don't be worried about what people would think...it would look much worse if you try and fail with weight you can't get off your chest ;)

I've been quit meh at gym for a while now, I was benching 100kg on my last set for 8 reps and I weighed~72kg then, I reckon I could have one repped 140, now though, maybe 1 rep 100 :(

Focus on form, good man.

@picard, just bench the bar for 2 weeks, then load in 2x5kg, then keep adding a little even 2,5 a week etc, and anyone watching you, they can go suck a d1ck!

you should be seeing massive results from all the cardio though in terms of leaning out?

imo fat burners are a bunch of crap and it is more mental

I am far from lean :p

Been doing the intense cardio for a couple days only. The good thing though is I am sticking with it.

Benching strength is a lot about technique. Also, imo 140 is a big jump from 100 for 8 reps. When I got to doing 100 for 8 reps I couldn't do 1 rep of 130 with no spot. With a touch of assistance at the bottom of the eccentric I could get a rep but that doesn't really count. When I eventually got up to 110 for 10 reps, then I could get 140 for 2 but that was at 83KG at about 13% bf. I'm leaner now and that always comes with losing strength (for me at least) so max out again at 130 for a few. Losing strength really makes cutting tough. Sucks going to gym and being weaker even though you look better.

Shouldn't happen that quickly IMO. Did you change your eating routine? Maybe your body was expecting breakfast but got a black coffee instead. :-\

Hi Guys I've been reading up a lot lately regarding exercise etc. and it seems that what you eat is the most important part of the whole getting lean/fit program. So I'm currently using myfitnesspal to track my calorie intake with around 6 cardio sessions a week (cycling, running, swimming) and some push and pull exercises (pull ups, push ups etc) in between.

Once I get to around 10 - 12% body fat I will be able to see what muscles need work and then work on those.

Do you think this is a good plan?

Hmm, my eating routine has generally always been sporadic, but it's not something I've deliberately taken note of. I'll actually try to eat a fuarkload next time before gym.
