10lbs of ON Whey Iso was ~R1300. I didn't see any sale when I went yesterday. The cheapest whey isolate was ~R700 - Biogen WheyIso. ... pricing in this country is absurd.

I have lived in Asia and there (like the US) 10lbs of ON Whey is R600.
I cannot believe how the supplement companies have cornered the SA market and charge exorbitant prices to an economy that has far less disposable income than the afore-mentioned.

I am looking into ways to get around this and if anyone is interested in talking about, send me a private message.

I was wondering has anyone seen power racks or spotter catchers for sale in sa? I want to start body building but the gym isn't an option. I can only seem to find these trojan 'power racks' which seem more like multi-gyms.

Yo pumpers....lol, pompers! Guys, who has experience with USN phedra hardcore? They talk about rapid fat loss and the supposed"feelgood factor" lol...in a whole month of eating right and gyming when I can I've lost 2kg's...lol, yes 2!No carbs!Although my pants sit much more better, they actually fall off, I need to get new ones I droped a pants size, my shirts are not as tight anymore...yet, i still weigh the same...I can feel a difference as I can run faster for longer, I'm back to pushing good weights but the weight just cannot get off...right now I'm 99kg's...I'm looking at 90kg's. I've supplemented the Phedra cut hardcore with CLA 1000...ma joh...or is weight loss not a kg thing...and results will not apear in 1 month but rather 3 to 4?I've given myself 4 months...is 10kg's attainable in 4?I've really got into the habbit of eating right which is a good step I think...but it takes so long

Just make sure you eat like a banana and drink black coffee before your morning workout-rather than not eating anything. You will lose more muscle than fat. Plus carbs are good for you! Just make sure your getting like brown rice etc

yes...you are right...i feel very weak when doing the weights I used to do!I can even feel my chest muscles are GONE...i've read that they go 1st because in normal day to day activity we hardly use them?

I do eat...I don't skip meals...but I just eat as little if not any carbs at all...

I think I must say i work out at night...i drive to JHB work drive back like 150kms then spend time with wifey and baby...they go to sleep coz we expecting again so the only time I can go to gym is when wifey and baby are sleeping that's usually after 8
 
Don't have any experience with USN, but there are some that claim it works.

You should be able to lose 1kg a week safely.

What is your current diet ? Also when do weigh yourself ?

I weigh myself at the gym every Teusday...

I eat normal cereal in the morning iwth coffee and brown sugar.
sometimes a snack which is fruit.
Then afternoon I eat whatever i can...might be meat, might be eggs, it is whatever...but as little carbs as possible...I'm very iffy about this and have managed to stay off carbs.
Then again some fruit
At night we make extra sure we have portion veggies and either meat or lean mince or fish...and some small baked potatoes or a small portion mash potatoe...
drink coffee at workin morning at 10 and maybe lunch and maybe afternoon if i'm not busy...

my eating has changed drastically!
 
Multiply your target weight by 90 and that should give you a rough estimate of how many kjs you should be eating (further multiply it by 10 for every hour of a week you work out).
 
Alfaholic, if u serious about this sounds like u need to be quite a lot stricter with the diet. I know it must be hard with the long commute, work, a wife and baby though.

Anyways, last November i dropped 1.4kg in 1 week from just cutting out wheat and sugar. I was 66.5kg at the time. Then week 2 i dropped another 800g by cutting out cars for the most part. This carried on for about 2-3 more weeks, and at the end lost almost 3.5kg in total.

I wasnt fat to start off with, just me and some friends had a bet on to see who could lose the most body fat. Week 1 i went to gym 5 times, doing mostly weight training. As the weeks went on i got a bit slacker but still managed at least 3 sessions per week. Spinning class about once a week.

Oh, also I would eat every 3.5hrs, with enuff protein for my body weight and the rest veggies. I was eating all the time and eating a lot and still dropping (fat) weight. Most veggies r low in calories so u can eat stacks. Obviously stay away from starchy veg.

I was counting calories in the beginning but since i was losing consistently I stopped counting. Since then this has definitely shrunk my stomach and I just cant eat big meals anymore and have no desire to eat more once i have eaten enough. These days I eat what i want but still try make sure to get enough protein in each meal. I havent gained more than half a kg of permanent weight since the bet concluded in December. Currently trying to increase muscle mass but i think i need to count calories to get this right because I dont think i am eating enough of everything in the right proportions.

yes bru is hella difficult!

This weekend wasn't a good one i broke my diet so bad!

But I'm back!

I only eat carbs like bread for instance in the afternoon...other than that Im very concious regarding what I eat.

I should cut out the sugar, I only get sugar in poridge and coffee...I'm on brown sugar now, don't know how much that helps...But ja i really want to lose the fat, going to gym only will not help!

I'm off the USN Phedra cut hardcore for a week to see what happens.
I drink lotsa water but don't eat nearly as much or often as i should....I only eat in the morning, afternoon and then at night...that is swak!

I recently started training seriously. Although I've played around with the iron a few years back I wouldn't consider that serious training :) Anyway I was wondering what seems to be a reasonable strength level given about 4 months of work. Currently my lifts are

Deadlift - 200kg x5
Squat - 140kg x5
Bench - 105kg x5
Overhead press - 80kg x5

I'm 1.88m tall and pull the scales at 140kg.

For your size the weights are decent but you can definitely do a lot better with time. Just keep at it.

For your weight I would have thought you could do better, but you should be able to in no time.
 
Thanks for the replies guys... I also suspected that I could do significantly better but for 8 weeks worth of effort this at least seems decent. What would be considered as "good"?

Current goals are
deadlift 260kg
squat 220kg
bench 180kg
overhead press 100kg

As before also a final set of 5 for each...

Goals look good but you'll definitely be able to up the weight on dealifts if you're killing the rest if those weights. The only thing here is that it depends on your form when doing the movements.
